My environment:

- Tvheadend running as docker on an Unraid-Server

- Emby running as docker on an Unraid-Server

- All files are on the same Server

Playback on AppleTV:

- Mrmc for Live-TV and picture slidshows

- Embyapp for playing recorded TV-Shows (mkv) and ripped DVD's (ts or mkv)

Facts:

- Mrmc can play every mkv and every ts filed without problems

- Embyapp can play every ts file but only a few mkv files (most of them plays without image, only sound)

Questions:

- why does mrmc can play all files but embyapp can't?

- what are the problems with that setup?

- what csn I change that mkv files are working?

Thanks

Pascal

Ok, thanks. I think we're stream copying when we should be transcoding. I am testing the sample file to confirm. In the meantime you should be able to get it to play by lowering the quality to force video transcoding.

Ok, thanks. I can comfirm that lowering the quality to 1MB is working as a workaround, but is not so cool to view on a big screen.

Yes, I've checked with latest Server and latest Beta-Server - Version. Same behavior when I set quality to auto. So no picture only sound.

The issue it this file needs to be transcoded. The problem is all of the video characteristics look normal based on the ffprobe output, which means it's hard to identify it as something that needs transcoding, therefore the issue is not fixed yet. Of course we will keep working on it.
