Game Genres not showing in Emby for Windows Media Center

Ever since I installed GameBrowser III my game genres have always been listed without posters.

I have gone to the web interface, found the genre listed in the game description, clicked it, saw the Platform games listed below, and edited the images from http://localhost:8096/web/itemdetails.html?gamegenre=Platform, but the image I choose Do NOT show up in Emby for Windows Media Center. I left it like that until recently when my game genres were no longer listed at all. I have server 3.0.5986.0

After some research and testing I discovered that if I go to Reports, choose games, and change to Statistics View, a different link is presented under Top 5 Genres. Here, the Platform genre goes to http://localhost:8096/web/itemdetails.html?id=233624ca500af182272c6f80ab13c28e where no games are listed at all, but I edit the images to this, those images DO show up in Emby for Windows Media Center. I also found that I can access the genres that aren't listed under Top 5 by changing the genre filter and zooming out.

I don't know why there is a disconnect between http://localhost:8096/web/itemdetails.html?gamegenre=Platform and http://localhost:8096/web/itemdetails.html?id=233624ca500af182272c6f80ab13c28e, but this is how I was able to get around it.

*Update - It doesn't last. My genres disappeared. I thought it was because of a restart, so I did it again and didn't restart, but they went away anyway.

My genres disappeared again! I performed this work around again, and used it successfully, but the next day they disappear again. I don't know what is going. http://localhost:8096/web/itemdetails.html?gamegenre=Platform still shows the correct poster on the web and lists all the right video games, but when I change my index to genre after selecting a console on Emby for Windows Media Center the results are empty and my only option is to change my index back to none, and http://localhost:8096/web/itemdetails.html?id=233624ca500af182272c6f80ab13c28e is missing the poster that I added yesterday. Please help.

The genres aren't actually disappearing just the images aren't showing, correct...?

The game genres used to be listed in MCE without a poster (even though there was a poster at http://localhost:8096/web/itemdetails.html?gamegenre=Platform).It used to show a rectangle outline with the name printed inside so I never worried about it before.

Recently they stopped being listed at all and actually disappearing with no way to access them inside Windows Media Center. That's when I discovered that the only way I was able to make them appear in MCE was to add a poster to http://localhost:8096/web/itemdetails.html?id=233624ca500af182272c6f80ab13c28e.

Only after I added the poster there, was I able to access the genre from MCE (this time with a poster instead of text). I thought I fixed the issue, but the next day my genres disappeared again and I couldn't access them through MCE. I checked http://localhost:8096/web/itemdetails.html?id=233624ca500af182272c6f80ab13c28e and the poster was gone as well. I re-added the poster there and the genres showed up again only to disappear later.

I checked the path for both objects and http://localhost:8096/web/itemdetails.html?id=233624ca500af182272c6f80ab13c28e seems to link to metadata\Genre\Platform and http://localhost:8096/web/itemdetails.html?gamegenre=Platform seems to link to metadata\GameGenre\Platform

Even though I added the poster to both, the only genres that ever did show up in the game section are ones that match my movie genres like Action, Adventure, and Horror. In those cases the movie posters show up in the game section even though I have a different poster for the GameGenre, but at least the show up at all and I was able to access those games. The main reason I use the Game Genres so much is because there is no way to index my games by how many players are listed for each game, so I added my own genres to multiplayer games so that I could access just those games when I wanted to play something with my family and friends, but without access to genres I'll never remember all the multiplayer games in my library.

The (now legacy) version of Emby Theater has a games by # of players index. It hasn't gotten into the new app yet but it's something I'd like to do.

That would be cool. Do you have any idea why GameBrowser would be ignoring the metadata\GameGenre directory in favor of the metadata\Genre directory?

I wanted to see one of my game genres that wasn't showing up, so I added it to one of the movies from my library. Once there was a movie that had that genre, the genre showed up in the games section with all the right games as well as the in the movie section will the one movie I choose to add it to. Once it was working in the game section I removed it from the movie, but that made it disappear from both sections so I just put it back in that movie and left it there. I included pictures of what my game section and movie section look like now and the version numbers of all of the software I'm using.

Emby Server 3.0.6020.0

GameBrowser III 3.0.6052.24817

Emby for MCE 3.0.302.0

GameBrowser-Classic 3.0.0.42

P.S. If you are going to include a player number index it would be super cool if games that allow for more players were included in the index for games with a lower number of players (i.e. all 4 player games were included in the 2 player section, since all 4 players games would have a 2 player option as well).
