n00b42 35
Is there a possibility to use CoverArt to add the language to the displayed cover (like the subtitle language) As a bonus with an option only to display it if it does not match a configurable default language, e.g. selecting "german" as my default, then only displaying the icons if german is not included (i.e. foreign languages) 2

Luke 37956
Related to: http://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/28445-display-movie-language-or-country/ but not yet solved, relying on subtitles is a no go in my opinion. So if I understand correctly, you want the subtitle language on the movie cover, and then based on that other topic, you also want the movie country and movie language? Do you still want to be able to read the movie poster underneath?
n00b42 35
No Sorry if I mixed topics here, I would like to have only the movie language, but lets describe my usecase and what I would like to use it for. My scenario is: Most of my library is in German (or German & English), but I have lots of English movies as well (without any German audio). What my problem is: I myself have no problem to watch English movies or shows at all, but some of my friends are not so good in understanding English. So when they come over I have to check which ones actually have German audio and which don't How could it be solved - Either include a filter for languages in the movie list (for audio and maybe subtitles as well, like "movies with audio in: German") - The other idea was to use CoverArt to add (in my case) an indicator if a movie only has foreign languages. E.g. leave most of my covers untouched, but add a "EN" flag if it only has an English audio track. Hope that explains the "problem". Thanks. n00b42 35
The guy in the mentioned thread has a similar issue: He wants to highlight does films which do not have English audio (for when he is not in the mood to read subtitles). So both my suggested ideas would solve his issue. too Regards
ebr 15179
We're just kind of out of room for indicators but maybe in the future...
n00b42 35
Got that, thats why I would either suggest extending the movie "Filter" dialogue or making it somewhat optional with CoverArt. @ebr: Is it in general possible to contribute to CoverArt or add functionality to it? Deniax 3
Another upvote for this @ebr , when running out of room for indicators, isn't an option to have multiple icons for example on bottom left? So for example for bottom left, you can choose from multiple indicators (audio language, resolution, aspect, etc), and all those indicators, you can choose at other positions those indicators as well. This opens up the possiblities to many other usefull indicators, like age rating, length of the movie/show, IMDB rating, etc
