ebr 15574 Posted May 22, 2016 Posted May 22, 2016 Exactly when did you get that error? What happened when you backed out of the error?
iBoss 29 Posted May 22, 2016 Author Posted May 22, 2016 it happen immediately after 10 sec of the beginning of the movie. It happen at any Movie with Arabic subtitle. I can not get rid of the error. (only by force quit of the app).
ebr 15574 Posted May 22, 2016 Posted May 22, 2016 Would it be possible for you to provide a sample media file that causes the issue?
iBoss 29 Posted May 22, 2016 Author Posted May 22, 2016 (edited) Thanks for trying to help ... I hope this issue is solved soon believe me you don't need any sample media to see this issue. Just download the attached Arabic subtitle and use it with any movie. you'll see the error before the first one minute pass. Don't forget that this issue only happened with Apple TV 4 subtitle.zip Edited May 22, 2016 by iBoss
ebr 15574 Posted May 22, 2016 Posted May 22, 2016 Okay, I don't think this is the Arabic subtitles specifically but, rather, the specific content of these subs. It is falling down first on the following line: <b>،للحصول على صوت أقوى" Notice that the line ends with a quote character (") but does not have another one. and, it begins with what is a valid "tag" in xml (). The parser is then trying to interpret that and it sees the quote start for the tag but reaches the end of the line before encountering another quote to end the string and the error produced is: Premature end of tag data in tag b line 1 Honestly, I'm not sure what we can do about this... Also, if you just hit the "menu" button on your remote, you will return to the video. The next line may produce the error again but you can just hit "menu" again and you can stop the video and return to the app by hitting menu before another error. You don't have to force-stop it because nothing is hung.
iBoss 29 Posted May 23, 2016 Author Posted May 23, 2016 this subtitle was encoded as widows-1256 before I convert it to utf8 and it was working with quote. Do you thinks you can fix this soon. I really installed emby server just to use it with Apple TV the problem not only with this error, it gives me another errors with another Arabic subtitle. (I will send to you another subtitle as soon as arrive at home) and only this happened on Apple TV. iPhone and iPad work great Thanks
