benbour 12
Trying to watch some 3D, but it's not working like it used to with the Kodi library. The video plays side by side, and I cannot change the 3D mode to play in, say, 2D if I want anymore. I thought maybe direct play was needed from emby to accomplish this, but that's never worked either. The emby server lives on a win 10 machine, and my kodi boxes are openelec (all newest stables for everything). Content sits on 2 WD mybooks, mapped drives on server. No passwords are needed, although I've tried setting up network credentials in the addon, it's not very clear as to what it actually wants. I read elsewhere someone got direct play working by adding credentials, then doing a complete reset of emby. I tried that, no go. Resetting the library every time I make a change to test is not the way things should be done. I shouldn't need credentials, since I don't from anywhere else. and Emby doesn't seem to accept a blank password. Path substitution is set up. drives look like: M:\Movies T:\Television Sub for: 192.168.x.x\Movies 192.168.x.x\Television Pretty straight forward, right emby? nope. When I used to play a 3D source, Kodi would ask me how I'd like to view it. Now it just plays sbs or tab. The problem with this is: 1) If i want to watch the movie on a non-3d TV, I'm out of luck 2) If i want to watch in 3D, Kodi doesn't go into 3D mode, so the OSD and subtitles are all stuck in 2D while the TV is in 3D playing the movie, quite the mess on screen. Ugly.
Angelblue05 4130
Your path substitution is incorrect because it needs \\ before the ip address. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Angelblue05 4130
You won't get 3D unless you direct play. Can you confirm which playback mode you are using (add-on config > sync options > playback mode)? Also do you have play from http enabled (configs still > playback), if it's enabled, disable it then try to play something in Kodi and post your Kodi log. Where can I see this log?
Angelblue05 4130
For log: http://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/17599-how-to-report-a-problem/ You didn't reset your database after switching to native playback mode (it's required to take effect). It's still using add-on playback. However, grab your Kodi log so we can hopefully see why it's not working (you can achieve direct play with add-on playback mode as well). Thanks Edited May 15, 2016 by Angelblue05

Angelblue05 4130
Try re-adding your path substitution... This is the path returned in your log: Verifying path: M:\Risen (2016)\Risen- 2016 .mkv (backward slash can't be escaped) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Edited May 17, 2016 by Angelblue05
benbour 12
Alright so I re-added paths as follows: M:\Movies To nfs://192.168.1.119/nfs/Movies/ I verified access to this nfs path in kodi with success Captured another log after: http://xbmclogs.com/pjvi1pi26
benbour 12
I think I got it...my mistake was going M:\Movies when M:\ was all that was needed: M:\ To nfs://192.168.1.119/nfs/Movies/ looks like I'm getting direct play now. I've now changed playback to native and have begun a full resync, Now that I can direct play, will I be able to view 3d content normally i.e. have kodi ask me which mode to view it in?
