I'd be like to search through all my content to find specific metadata identifiers, such FLAC audio, or a Chinese language soundtrack, or PGSSUB subtitles, or whatever

in the searchbox something like:

audio="flac" language="kor" subtitle="fra"

to find any file with Korean language audio, encoded in FLAC, with French subtitles

i wonder whether more basic options are pressing

type=[music,tv,movie,photo,game,]

or

type=[album,track,episode,show, etc...]

person="search term"

and before that ...

higher level objects having a greater weighting over a sea of lower level objects eg

shows over episodes

albums over tracks

exact matches over any matches

and before that

a persistent search interface that allows results to be browsed in turn.

Yes, I want this!!

I use search a lot for Music on my phone. It is so annoying searching for a song, and I get results for random TV shows and actors that happen to have the keyword.

I would also suggest maybe have the search limited to the section your in. For example if I am in the movie section when I do a search I want to see results from movies and not TV shows.

Maybe the "search abrangency" can be configured in profile preferences....

In my case, I'd set to OFF in "Series episodes", because who searches for episode titles ? I guess only a few...

I'd love to see that, too. On weaker systems the search needs a very long time because EVERYTHING is being searched through.

So it would be nice if you could specify which database(s) should be scanned.

E.g. disabling episode names, trailers and actors from search would give a big performance improvement in search I guess.
