I don't think that's entirely accurate.  I tried emby connect today, I am customizing my emby server via my reverse proxy, changing logos and what not...  It looks like emby connect is accessing my server as an APP?  Stripping my changes.  Meaning that users do NOT directly connect with my server they connect with emby servers and streams of selective data are grabbed directly from my server and sent directly to the client, other images and html bits are being supplied from the emby connect servers.

For example this menu logo image is defiantly coming from emby servers, looks like there are all kinds of bits (javascript, images, the Html files, css, etc) coming from emby servers.  This is what I was saying I didn't want.  Not trying to sir poo, just making sure others looking for info understand.

Connect and app.emby.media are two different things.  Are you talking about using app.emby.media?

If so, then the code you are running (the web client) will be coming from our server, not yours, but the connection to your server is direct (not passed through us).

Uhhhhh......  Maybe you were correct then... I thought they were one in the same....     any good reading that explains connect then?  I guess I need to read up...

The reason I thought they were the same, when i click this:

I am taken to app.emby.media

I think I am also unclear on the purpose of emby connect as I also thought it was related to the app.emby.media.

This is interesting. Does an FTP server contain emby? Or does it reroute to your computer somehow?

I'm new when it comes to this type of thing... Forgive the noobie question.

It runs off my home server which my domain name is pointed to. I run nginx which allows me to point my domain and subdomains to ports on the server that my various apps are running on.

Emby Connect is only for connectivity, and that's it. The online web client is just a hosted version of the built-in web client, with the added enhancement of multi-server support. It is basically it's own standalone app.

CBers

I just noticed there is a facebook share function on the web GUI now!  YAY!  However its still an advertisement for EMBY and not what we are actually sharing.. when clicked it goes to the shared media, but facebook people dont know what they are clicking.  If that were changed that would be great...  need to remove <meta property="fb:app_id" content="1618309211750238"> & <meta property="og:url" content="http://emby.media"> Instead reflect our server or shared media page URL here..

I still see this as unresolved.

Sharing to Twitter and the other Social Networks seems to work, just not to FaceBook.

Any updates please ??

Try sharing using my emby server, see if it reacts differently   ;)    Judging by the "app id" in the emby headers, they are using facebook analytics, and its probably one of their anonymous usage stats.

But yes it would be nice out of the box to reference our server info (not the emby site) and the shared media cover image rather than the generic emby image...

Hi everybody I have some users who want to enter my Emby server by invitation. but when they want to enter the server does not allow to enter. I do not know how to configure the server so that users can access it.

Thanks

And, it would be awesome if you could do that in a new posting in the Server support forum as this is a feature request that has been answered.

Thanks!

Untoten

The option within emby to automatically post new content to a specific facebook PAGE.

I would like to setup a facebook page for my emby server, a page that all of my users can follow..  I can post server maintenance messages on this facebook, as well as newly added media...   But i would like the newly added media to be automatic...    So within emby maybe have a setting for the address of a specific facebook PAGE & login info, so any newly added media from selected categories (movies, music, music videos or whatever is checked) will get automatically posted on the facebook page timeline.

You might have to get rid of your facebook analytics stuff running within emby server...  But it would be a great feature for me, and anyone who has a bunch of remote users..  I cant even do this manually at the moment due to the FB Domain Insights Analytics code you have in emby, maybe start by getting rid of that  FB code on the Shared media links? That would really help out as a quick fix first step.

Be careful homie, I used to do that with twitter, but I realized I didn't want my shiz public lol

Have you personally tested remote access away from home? I would check out our Connection Troubleshooter. Please try the steps listed there and let us know exactly what succeeds and what doesn't. Thanks !

This sounds like a network configuration problem.  What were the results of the connection troubleshooter linked above?
