Hello,

I have just installed emby on Apple TV 4 and I'm getting an error ''maximum call stack exceeded.'

This error occurs when I open emby --> choose a music library --> sort by Albums... then it displays the error.

Apple TV (Generation 4)

Model A165 (32 GB)

tvOS 9.2 (13Y234)

Can anyone help me with this issue and/or how do I properly report it to emby?

-Michael

When you say "sort by Albums" do you mean you select the button at the top for the "Albums" view?

How many Albums do you have?  Do they show properly in other apps?

Thanks.

Hi,

Yes, that is exactly what I mean. The button at the top for the "Albums" view, located to the left of the "Artists" button.

There are 1,020 albums currently in this library.  This will grow to around 3,000 albums as I load them.

The albums load correctly in the browser (Firefox) and on my iPhone 6.

I forgot to mention one line in the error that I previously posted. It says: 'Oops. Something went wrong... Maximum call stack exceeded. Error loading document FolderView'  I attached a screenshot of the error message.

This is a tricky one.  Could you make the problem occur and then post your server log?  Thanks.

I recreated the problem and saved the newest log files - see attached.

I sent you two log files - one of them is with debugging option enabled.

Let me know what else you need.

Everything looks fine on the server end.

Would you be willing to invite me as a guest user to your server so that I can see if I can reproduce the problem under the debugger?

If so, just create a guest account for "ebr" and give it access to your music library.  Thanks.

I created the guest account for you.

Okay, re-start the app and see if you can get into your albums now.

It seems to be working now.

What was the issue and how did you resolve it?

  • Solution

You had an album named something like "" or some such strange set of characters and some of them were illegal in the technology we're using so I had to account for them properly.

You can remove my guest user now.  Thanks very much for helping to find this.

I see. That album was <|°_°|> by Caravan Palace.

Thanks for resolving that so quickly!
