Hi all,

I'd like to be able to restrict content based on usage-scenario --- in addition --- to user-profile... Probably easier if I explain the scenario.

My main media theatre is in my living room, and we make use of the user profiles reasonably well.. Profiles for the kids, and profiles for my wife and I as a couple (because we basically watch most things together).. And it all works great, from recommendations, to continuing a series or episode or movie etc.. And keeping a track of what we have and haven't watched.

Fantastic...

However, my our bedroom.. we don't want to watch a massive TV.. or even have a TV.. So, I'm building out a mini HTPC with a small in-built TFT, purely to play music in the bedroom.. Rather than having to log into our profile and then navigate past Anime - Kid's TV - Movies to music.. I'd quite like to be able to configure that this particular client only gets the Music.. done.. But, that I'd like to still use our user profile, so that it brings up recently played / favourites etc..

Clearly, I *could* achieve much of this by creating a new user profile ... Bedroom... and just grant it access to the Music library .. But, importantly, it wouldn't carry-over music we have/haven't listened to, or favourites, or recently played from our primary user account..

Similarly, I'd rather use our primary account/profile when using the gym player, but have that one restricted to the exercise category and music.. maybe even a subset.. Although, in this particular case.. It may make sense to create an exercise/gym user profile..

Finally, when the little-one is older and maybe has her own player in her room, or play room... This could add an extra layer of security in that, even if she figured out our primary profile password.. if that player is *never* allowed that content.. she could log in as us in the privacy of her own room, sure, but would still only get the content authorised for that specific player ....

...

This could work by generic player type (e.g. HTML client), as well as specific clients (e.g. IP or ideally some kind of digital cert)...

In the meantime you can try something like the Trakt plugin to sync watched data between profiles.
