ebike 13
Hi All, I am very new to Emby but have used Kodi for years. I have installed the plugin and logged into the server. I can see all the metadata/album art etc but only photos work. For videos, I get errors about "next playlist", log output is: 15:29:25 T:139695907010304 WARNING: CreateLoader - unsupported protocol(plugin) in plugin://plugin.video.emby.movies/?dbid=185&mode=play&id=703549bc3ebc24821293c16cba9cd644&filename=WALL-E.2008.BluRay.m-720p.AC3.x264-ortamci.mkv15:29:25 T:139695907010304 WARNING: CreateLoader - unsupported protocol(plugin) in plugin://plugin.video.emby.movies/?dbid=184&mode=play&id=a474c09905b89da24b9e532781bf904d&filename=Titanic.1997.m-720p.AC3.x264%7ERKO.mkv15:29:25 T:139695907010304 WARNING: CreateLoader - unsupported protocol(plugin) in plugin://plugin.video.emby.movies/?dbid=181&mode=play&id=6aa0c9acbf5d2f95dca9971ad3505854&filename=Stealth.mkv15:29:25 T:139695907010304 WARNING: CreateLoader - unsupported protocol(plugin) in plugin://plugin.video.emby.movies/?dbid=180&mode=play&id=5a86895a4f4b4da1e5bc1c76e2c5e647&filename=Starstruck.mkv15:29:25 T:139695907010304 WARNING: CreateLoader - unsupported protocol(plugin) in plugin://plugin.video.emby.movies/?dbid=178&mode=play&id=2f449f3b609268c70510ce4e101396a1&filename=Starship+Troopers.mkv15:29:25 T:139695907010304 WARNING: CreateLoader - unsupported protocol(plugin) in plugin://plugin.video.emby.movies/?dbid=177&mode=play&id=c10f93a8b73729eae0b518c6b4788ca7&filename=Stardust.mkv For music all the art is there, but when I select a track: 15:29:58 T:139696819431616 ERROR: Init: Error opening file musicdb://artists/1/35/139.ogg?albumartistsonly=false&albumid=35&artistid=115:29:58 T:139696819431616 ERROR: CAudioDecoder: Unable to Init Codec while loading file musicdb://artists/1/35/139.ogg?albumartistsonly=false&albumid=35&artistid=115:29:58 T:139696819431616 WARNING: PAPlayer::QueueNextFileEx - Failed to create the decoder15:29:58 T:139696819431616 ERROR: Playlist Player: skipping unplayable item: 0, path [musicdb://artists/1/35/139.ogg?albumartistsonly=false&albumid=35&artistid=1]15:30:01 T:139695681955584 NOTICE: EMBY KodiMonitor -> Method: Playlist.OnClear Data: {"playlistid":0} Any idea's? Angelblue05 4130
The first errors can be ignored. They mean nothing. Is it all tracks that do not work? Tested music and works fine over here. Please post the entire log otherwise it's impossible to help: http://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/17599-how-to-report-a-problem/ Maybe you have path issues. What do your paths look like in emby dashboard > library. Edited March 28, 2016 by Angelblue05
ebike 13
Yes, it is all tracks that don't play ... and all videos don't play. Paths are: Movies: /media/Plex_Media/Movies Music: /media/Plex_Media/Music These folders where used by plex so have plex permissions, do I have to change ownership:group to emby? (actually they play in the web client fine so should be ok as they are) Complete kodi log attached .. kodi.log Edited March 28, 2016 by ebike
Angelblue05 4130
Kodi needs to have a file protocol to work. If you use samba (smb) you'll want to make your paths look like: \\<ip address>\Movies If you use nfs, then you'll want to format your path nfs://<path to content> I don't use nfs so I'm not sure the correct path structure, but you can definitively search the forums for an answer. You will need to set up a path substitution in your emby server > library > path substitution From: /media/Plex_Media/ To: \\<ip address>\ That should do it. You may need to adjust the path, this is merely a suggestion of what it should look like. As long as it starts with "\\" then it will automatically default to using smb to access your content. Also, don't forget to add username and password to access your share in the emby add-on settings > playback > network credentials.
ebike 13
Hi, That's really strange ... when I use Plex plugin with Kodi, I don't have to do anything special. After all, both Plex and Emby ARE file servers, why should I need an additional file server as well? Don't understand this at all.
Angelblue05 4130
Maybe because it's direct streaming. You can enable play from http in the add-on settings > playback. This will bypass your path issues.
ebike 13
Thanks, that worked for videos, but music still does not play. Also, videos are very jerky .... cpu usage on both client and server is very low, so not sure what is the issue.
Angelblue05 4130
Yeah, because you are direct streaming. Music unfortunately doesn't work the same way as the video library due to Kodi limitations, so you have two choices: 1. Fix your paths so they are accessible over your network. This would also fix your video library so you can direct play instead. 2. Enable music direct stream but this will playback all your music as mp3. You will need to resync for that change. ebike 13
Hi, Thanks for your suggestions. However, I want to only direct stream .... I should be able to do that without jerky playback, the same videos streamed fine in Plex. (I am wanting to stream to both local network and external ..) I have tried all sorts of playback settings including forcing transcode, but that did not seem to do anything .... and I can't resync because that feature is only allowed for the payed version. I want to evaluate it before paying out money ..... I can't seem to do that. I will try restarting the server to see if it picks up changes to the client ..... seems bad that I have to do that though ....
Angelblue05 4130
What are you talking about? I am so confused. I am talking about reset your local database in kodi by launching the add-on. This will resync your music library for direct streaming in Kodi. Please explain what you are referring to, because it doesn't sound right at all. ebike 13
Well you did not specify what to resync, so I assumed the server "sync" button ... now that you have specified exactly what to resync, I will do so ..
Angelblue05 4130
Make sure to enable music to direct stream in the addon settings > sync option Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
