Show display it's seasons as shows

I have been work on this issue on and off for over a month and all my searching hasn't yeilded any results.

 

I have The Real Ghostbusters series, but all the seasons show up as there own shows and some of them are missidentified as other shows. Though when you open the show you see Ghostbusters episodes.

 

Here is what I have tried so far in my efforts to correct this issue.

1. Moving the folder out of the TV folder scanning the library and moving it back and rescanning the library.

2. Moving the folder out of the TV folder scanning the library and moving it back one season at a time and scanning after adding each season.

3. Copy the The Real Ghostbusters folder then using Emby's delete option to delete show. Then moving it back and rescanning the library.

4. I have tried renaming the episodes and rescanning the files.

5. I have tried using the Identify option in the Metadata Manager.

6. I have tried using the Refresh option in the Metadata Manager.

7. I made sure the folder structure is correct using TV as the root.

   2. /mnt/Video/TV/Real Ghostbusters, The/Season 2

   3. /mnt/Video/TV/Real Ghostbusters, The/Season 3

   4. /mnt/Video/TV/Real Ghostbusters, The/Season 4

   5. /mnt/Video/TV/Real Ghostbusters, The/Season 5

   6. /mnt/Video/TV/Real Ghostbusters, The/Season 6

   7. /mnt/Video/TV/Real Ghostbusters, The/Season 7

   8. /mnt/Video/TV/Real Ghostbusters, The/Season 8 (Slimer)

8. Verified none of my other TV shows are having this issue.

9. Removed the TV folder from the Media Library scan the library and added it back and rescan.

10. Finally rebooted, because what can it hurt.

 

As you can see some of them have been incorrectly identified.

Even if I correct them the seasons still shows up as it's own show.

Just a shot in the dark: What happens if you rename the series folder so that it doesn't contain a comma?

I think it's probably something else. In order to know for sure, we'll need to see screenshots of the folder contents of a few levels - a season folder, series folder, and the parent of that. there's probably some other file that's confusing the recognition process.

how did you setup the library in emby server? what content type?

I would still try to rename "Real Ghostbusters, The" to "The Real Ghostbusters" and remove all seasons except "Season 1".

The content type is TV.

Everything in the TV folder is TV shows I'm not trying to do any mixed media.

I tried deleting the TV library and recreating it with no luck.

I'll try removing that character tonight and moving all the season except for 1 then moving them back one at a time to see if that helps.

 

 

I'm assuming it doesn't cache anything and once you delete and rescan it pulls all the information fresh each time.

Could I be working under a false assumption? Is it just reassigning the wrong information each time I delete and copy episodes back?

Thanks for the suggestion Softworkz. It seems to have worked for Season 1 and 2. I will let you know the results after I move the other 6 season.

 

Here are the steps I took.

1. Deleted the show and all the sub folders.
2. Scan the library.
3. Created the show name without the , in the name.
4. Copied Season 1 into the Show folder.
5. Scan the library.
6. Copied Season 2 into the Show folder.
7. Scan the library.

Due to the holiday it took me a while to find the time to finish this, but it did solve the problem.

Thanks for all the help.

 

SOLUTION

Can you rule out the season 8 folder naming? I.e. did you test a situation at some time, where you had the "comma" in the name but not the season 8 folder named as "Season 8 (Slimer)"?
