With the new OS reaching release candidate stage I thought I'd take it for a test drive now the Emby package fails to run. ARGH!!!!

It's a DS414 Emby version package is listed as 3.0.5724.5-5 selecting run displays 'loading' for about 8-9 seconds then times out with no error message

same here, running DSM 6 Beta 2 on a DS414.

No errors at all, all needed packets installed successfully, but Emby just doesn't want to start :-/

Maybey this one works emby_armadaxp-6.0_3.0.5882.0-6.spk this is the modified version from Cytec with the last build from Emby

I've heard DSM6 removes 'root' access which will negate WinSCP, perhaps those files can now not be properly accessed when firing up the package :/

mhh but starting Emby manually with

cd /var/packages/emby/scripts/
sudo ./start-stop-status start  

doesn't work either.

I made an observation maybe this is the right direction?

trying to start Emby the first time after installation the process "apparmor_parser" shows up. Apparmor seems to be some kind of security agent, controlling file access from apps or something like this. I had to restart the DS to make the process show up again.

Maybe somebody knows how to disable apparmor temporarily?

negative, this doesent work, not atleast on mine, rolling it back to the previus stable version is a bust aswell, none of them will start.

Updating to DSM 6.0 worked without any hassles. using Version 5.910. Just stopped  emby and after update restarted Server. ok.

Please tell us the model off your Synology instead off only shout ..ARGH

Maybe we can help then.

It's stiill not a stable release so it's not fully supported till then.

can you provide me with the new build 5911 for DS 415+. I have crashed the sudoers file. I do not have root Access to install the mono Zip.

 

Any idea how to fix the sudoer Problem?

Does Emby work on DSM 6.0 now?

I have a DS214Play Evansport on DSM 5 with the last version of Emby and everything works correctly.

Is there a procedure to update DSM in the version 6.0, so that emby continue to work correctly?

Or it is enough to close Emby, to update DSM and to start Emby?

 

I understood as well as DSM 6.0 did not allow the access to the NAS with WinSCP. Is it true?

In this case, how I shall make to install the updates, knowing that I am not endowed in English, and not endowed with Linux...
