parsaria 4 Posted February 20, 2016 Posted February 20, 2016 It would be awesome that there was a option to connect servers together. Something like a server side sharing. So this way your server stays central and your server connect to an other server to get the content from, or even better the server share a token to directly link the content. That is what I am missing. Other then that it works splendid. 1
Deathsquirrel 743 Posted February 21, 2016 Posted February 21, 2016 How would you use this, aside from illegally sharing content? You'll need a legit use case to get any sort of hearing. Library sharing like this to facilitate piracy has been shot down several times.
sydlexius 259 Posted February 21, 2016 Posted February 21, 2016 (edited) Assuming that these multiple servers could sync play state, then combined with AD authentication this could allow for a load-balanced setup at large corporate sites. Of course, shifting database support from SQLite to an RDBMS like MariaDB, PostgreSQL, MSSQL, etc. may very well address this (but that would be thread-jacking). Edited February 21, 2016 by sydlexius
parsaria 4 Posted February 21, 2016 Author Posted February 21, 2016 (edited) How about sharing your pictures and home videos with other family members that also have an emby server running. So when you log in with your user in Kodi you can see there library as well. And anyway what is difference of making shared user or a shared server, the difference is that it is more user friendly. Right now the guest user has no particularly use because you might as well make a real user and give the user your IP address and let them log in directly. Edited February 21, 2016 by parsaria
