It would be really useful to have the ability to export your library / settings / plugins / user data to a single file with the ability to import to another server.

This would be really useful for rebuilding servers and not having to manually backup directories and files.

I know this will only work if you keep the path to your media the same but it would be a real time saver  :)

Check out the configuration backup plugin in the catalog.

Not sure how I missed that!

Thanks

Does this also backup the art folders aswell or just the meta data?

Take a look at it in the web interface, and if that question is not self-explanatory then @@ebr can update the plugin so that it is

From looking at a completed backup being 7mb i don't think it does.

Thanks for pointing me in the right direction  :)

The plug-in backs up your server configuration not your library.

Now, it does go a small extra step and also backup local users and the data associated with those users (meaning what they marked as favorites or likes and their watched status for items).  And it backs up the definition of your library (the folders that are pointed to).

It does not back up any artwork, metadata, media etc.

Thanks ebr. Is there the possibility to have this added in the future or is that out of scope?

There are lots of straight file backup solutions available.  I don't think we'll try to do that.
