It's asking me to login to view it. Can you either put it on http://paste2.org/ or PM me a direct link. Thanks.

Seriously?

You keep asking me to paste , send , copy these log files that are huge... the file keeps growing with every thing that happens, every error, every task....

sure I can attach it here......

My question is who will look at this log to help me solve the problem?

These are the same errors I have been dealing with for weeks over 2 versions of the application.

There is nothing new in this log.

Nothing in the new version of the application fixed anything (in which I asked about that earlier)

I think this is actually an issue in the  mono run-time that we'll have to workaround. i can try to fix it in the beta branch for tomorrow.

@@hurricanehrndz or @@fc7 what is the beta install process for someone currently on stable? would it be a separate side by side install?

I have posted a possible fix to the beta branch so if you have the ability to try it out that would be great, thanks.

Please let me know who tested it successfully and provide the logs.

Also provide beta install instructions and removal please.

thanks for your help

Hi, what distribution are you running? the beta is available using the website instructions for CentOS, Debian, Docker, Fedora, OpenSuse and Ubuntu:

http://emby.media/linux-server.html

It would actually overwrite your existing install, so it might not be desirable if you want to avoid disrupting your current setup. If that's the case then you probably just want to wait for the upcoming stable release.

 Ubuntu 14.04

What is the difference between beta vs stable?

Who is testing this software?

Who has tested this fix and successfully used the DVR functionality on using this distro?

thanks again

I am testing it personally, and we have other community members testing both the dev and beta branches in the Testing Area:

http://emby.media/community/index.php?/forum/102-server/

Keep in mind it is still pre-release and there are going to be other changes that are still a work in-progress. If this is a problem for you then I would wait for the stable release. The current change log is here:

I am sorry... I dont see the answer to my question that I continue to ask.

Who has tested this successfully using linux ubuntu 14.04?

If I am missing something please educate me.

I removed the double checked locking that we were using to lazy load the recording data because it looks like there's an issue with that technique in the mono runtime. I changed it to just a simple lock and data load.

fyi, while waiting for the next release, you could also try updating your installed version of mono to the latest in case that might resolve it. I have not tested 4.2.2, just 4.2.1.

Why does it "looks like" there is an issue with the run time?

If you have it working successfully (which you have not said yet) with mono 4.2.1 why would I upgrade?

What is causing the "Null Value" error I consistently get when trying to start the recording?

Because there are multiple ways to skin a cat so I just offered it as a suggestion. What is causing the data loading error is the issue I mentioned above in post #70.

I appreciate your time and help.

I very much want to use this application but the DVR part is a huge issue for me right now and I have spent a lot of time on it so far unsuccessfully.

I want to make sure it works before I continue with Emby.

There are other media server applications out there but getting them to work with DVR functionality is complex, but I have successfully done so. (plex and mythtv)

Emby pulls all functions together with a beautiful GUI that work with multiple clients and streaming live tv is a bonus.

Overall the application and clients are bit buggy at this time though, which I get is part of the growing process.

Sorry for the rant.

thanks for your work.
