kuebs 6
I had to rebuild my media server. So I started this Emby build on a new login through Windows 8. I have it installed and have mapped out some media libraries. But it won't scan. And when I mean won't scan, I mean it fails 0 seconds. It never even tries. I was used to this working slow before or only getting 23% usually, but eventually getting done, but now it doesn't see any folders because it actually never scanned. Any thoughts? 10-20-15-1429 log.rtf Edited October 22, 2015 by kuebs

kuebs 6
I feel suitably admonished now. I have attached log to the post above, as I can't seem to get the full editor with attachments unless I am re-editing a post.

ebr 14912
Please attach as the raw text file not an rtf. Or you can use one of the other methods outlined in the post I linked to.

ebr 14912
Stop the server and delete it. But you are going to need to figure out the access problems or none of this is going to work properly.
kuebs 6
Pardon my ignorance. How do I delete the database? I want to make sure that I do this correctly.
ebr 14912
delete the files that start with "refreshinfo.db" under the data directory under your emby server directory.

Did you fix whatever the access problems were? I believe you are using a domain controller and that may be complicating things greatly as Windows Domain security can be very complex. kuebs 6
FYI, right now I am not using a Windows Domain Controller.
kuebs 6
access problems have been fixed. I finally figured out a script to invoke to reset file ownership and directory rights. Its, icacls * /t /q /c /reset It reset all rights to default and then I could assign folders and was able to add movies to the library. I still cannot get the library to scan. My library scan never even tries. It always fails at 0%. I really would love to fix this.

kuebs 6
Ok. Attached is a new log from this morning. To make this more interesting. There is one folder (Lily) which actually is avaialble and has been scanned and most of the items are visible. Emby now shows the folders, like Movies, Videos, Music Videos, but they all show 0/0 items. I can't see a discernable difference between any of the other folders and this one. And now everyone and the user has all rights to the folders. emby log 10-23-15 0900.txt
ebr 14912
Looks like your main library database is corrupt now. Now that you've solved the access problems, I would start over clean.
kuebs 6
I just deleted all the files that begin with refreshinfo, and restarted the server. I am not having any better luck. is there any other steps I need to do to reinitiate the database? Log is attached. I also attached the log from right before I stopped the server and removed the refreshinfo files. emby log 10-23-15-11-15.txt emby log 10-23-15-11-14.txt
Luke 37062
unfortunately you have some databases that have been corrpuped. the fact that it's more than one suggests a possible disk drive issue. but in any event, to fix, shutdown the server, navigate to the server's program data folder, then go under /data and delete the library.db and activitylog.db file then start the server and run a library scan. Solution kuebs 6 Posted October 23, 2015 Author Solution Share Posted October 23, 2015 OK. That worked. Hurray. Now the database is being rebuilt. That seems to take a long, long time, but the content is accessable and viewable. Thank you.
