CtrlAlt7 10 Posted October 22, 2015 Posted October 22, 2015 Hi there, I recently changed my Emby Server PC from a Windows 7 to a Windows 10 PC. Everything is working perfectly except for remote access. When I try to connect via my Windows Phone running Windows Phone 8.1 I receive error "connection details invalid, please try again". I am sure I have done something wrong or missed something but everything ive tried doesn't seem to work. Any suggestions? 1
ScottIsAFool 517 Posted October 24, 2015 Posted October 24, 2015 Are you able to use the web client when trying remotely?
CtrlAlt7 10 Posted October 29, 2015 Author Posted October 29, 2015 Nope, web client doesnt work. Tried playing around with firewall settings on PC, even turned it off, played around router settings as well still no good. Not sure if there is a setting ive missed somewhere but cant figure out what ive done wrong as it was working fine on my previous PC.

If the web client isn't working either, it means your home router isn't allowing the connection to get through. You'll need to configure your router's port forwarding for port 8096 for it to work outside of your network. If your port forwarding is correctly configured, check that your server's firewall or antivirus aren't blocking the access.
CtrlAlt7 10 Posted November 1, 2015 Author Posted November 1, 2015 (edited) Correct, the port forwarding had to be updated to the new ip address of my Emby server. Once done works perfectly. Thanks. Edited November 1, 2015 by CtrlAlt7 1
