Just want to report, in the last 2wks I have noticed that Kodi wil hanged at this following stages:

Kodi splash or at GUI, navigating through menus (program, system movies),  or when I  restart

In all these instances I had to physically reboot my box, sometimes it will perform as normal with no hiccups mentioned, other times I have to re-power the box several times before Kodi start playing,

This pattern is such irregular, that the logs captured are override coz of restarting several times, or I forget turn on info in the advance tab.

so I couldn't capture logs.

However, here few logs, hope therein something could be reveled, advance apology if I had wasted your time if no issue found in the logs

Thanks

Your logs don't show much. Are you the one trying to load channels every time Kodi starts up? Or is it the skin?

Do you recall installing anything in Kodi in the past two weeks, like an add-on or a skin?

Your logs don't show much I think I may have captured incorrect log. Are you the one trying to load channels every time Kodi starts up? No  Or is it the skin? My Skin has always being Titan

Do you recall installing anything in Kodi in the past two weeks, like an add-on or a skin? Nop

I shall monitor the behaviors  and ensure the logs are taken when it does happen.

I just that it has been a pain having to reach to my box every now and then to power off when the system hangs

I just installed emby/kodi 1.1.52, sync went nice, so I decided to play one movie, the screen went blank error message "mode not supported"

So I rebooted Kodi, then navigate to program to pull log, the kodi hanged again, so I rebooted again this time I was able to navigate to program to populate logs,

You see the first log is always lost because, I had to restart Kodi twice, I am should if this logs captured any issues, this issue is mind blowing-let me know what I should do this annoying

Note I have  no other add-on installed except kodi log up-loader

sorry for been forceful about this issue, I kept experiencing same issue over/over here and there, and I don't understand where the issue lies, once more my system freeze late night.

It doesn't appear that others are seeing this issue on OpenElec as it has not been raised in the forum, I am kin to resolving this issue, at least if know is not emby related, then l can post concern in OpenElec.

@Angelblue05, you had mentioned, the issue is not captured in previous logs, could there be an alternative to possible capture the issue in log, either turn on Kodi debug or something?

Thanks for your help most appreciated

I see few errors in these logs, I don't know if it revels something tangible or pertains to my concern.

If required I can post logs tomorrow or this weekend but I wanted to chime in to validate e123enitan's issue.  Kodi or Emby for Kodi freezes intermittently and at random moments.  I have experienced it under these circumstances:

  • Movie or episode finishes...freeze...black screen.  This instance happens the more than any below.
  • Finish watching movie trailer, Kodi/Emby goes back from Youtube trailer to "Show Information" screen...freeze...black screen.
  • While Kodi/Emby displays "Compressing database".  Freezes on this alert.

Like I said, I can post logs this weekend if necessary.

Thanks.

e123enitan's issue was caused by an audio setting (at least I'm waiting to see if it was really that).

Yes, please post a log http://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/17599-how-to-report-a-problem/. Which version of emby are you using, stable (1.1.39) or beta (1.1.52)?

sorry to have jumped into this, as it was thought that Audio might have caused my issue, therefore, since the audio output have been changed, THE FREEZING have stopped and Kodi runs better than previously noticed at least for now, also the error is gone as per this log.

What did you have to change the audio output to?  I find that I am having no real advantage with Emby as the backend for Kodi because of these random freezes as well (plus syncing, but that's another issue).

System>Settings>Audio output>Audio output device> here (I have two options AML-M8AUDIO S/PDIF or AML-M8AUDIOHDMI) so I changed to HDMI from S/PDIF, so the issue stopped. For windows system it slightly different because it have more options to choose from.

Hope it helps

Thank you, I'll have to check it out.  I only have HDMI anyway on the HTPC so maybe there are other causes.  I do get a lot of audio errors in the logs (just can't recall what they say off the top of my head and right now Kodi is insisting the GUI can't be set up and exits when it was working fine last week).

Not HDMI as cable from your HTPC to the back of the TV, but the settings as mentioned above could be where you need to review and ensure the appropriate option is selected, as you mentioned thereare several audio errors in your log, well see this help or you post for one of Dev, surely one of them will see to the issue if it is something within their skill to resolve.
