bigzaj 0 Posted August 24, 2015 Posted August 24, 2015 I just started using Emby, and I like most things so far. I currently use Kodi+mySql and Plex for mobile / xbox one. I'd like to eventually transition away from Plex because I like using Kodi and really like the path substitution for Emby to ensure I'm not transcoding locally. Would it be possible (or maybe there is a better way) to have a quick Metadata editor type function? The majority of changes I make are with the posters. With Emby I can scroll through the movies view and to edit: (1) Right-click movie (2) Select Edit [Launches Metadata Editor] (3) Select Image (4) Select Cloud icon (5) Click download (6) Click back [image not shown, have to refresh list to see it OR I can launch the Metadata editor to browse, but you can't see the artwork unless you select Image and you can't scroll, have to scroll and hit enter or use mouse to select movies (tedious one at a time) In Plex when scrolling through movies to edit a poster: (1) Click pencil (2) Click Poster (3) Select new Poster (4) Click save and it is shown in new state. This is 2 clicks fewer and probably half the time as doing the same simple edit in Emby. It would be nice if there was a quickedit option for poster, sort title, etc.
Deathsquirrel 743 Posted August 24, 2015 Posted August 24, 2015 Right now if you are in the metadata editor if you press Down Arrow > Enter it selects the next movie. If you could just hit the down arrow that would likely meet this need though I'm not sure of the server impact when someone bumps the key 6 or 7 times in a row
Luke 39386 Posted August 24, 2015 Posted August 24, 2015 on the detail screen of a movie (or anything) you can also click the poster to jump right to the image editor. but yes i agree we should try to reduce the number of clicks 1
Deathsquirrel 743 Posted August 24, 2015 Posted August 24, 2015 When I was cleaning up my posters the easiest method seemed to be to just run two tabs. Look at the movie posters in tab 1. Edit the movie posters in tab 2. That way I could just scroll through all the movie posters without clicking back and forth. 3
