Hey Guys,

I am trying to setup Sickbeard to automate my TV shows and downloads.

Sickbeard looks for an NFO/XML file in the setup folders. I have created mine and directed to each season folder.

Is there a file in there that Sickbeard can read from so it knows which is the next episode to download?

I would try their forums.

I would also check out Sonarr as an alternative.

I'd highly recommend Sickrage over Sickbeard

This is just memory recall . . . but I thought that in both sickrage and sickbeard (as I recall, but maybe only a sickrage feature) you can specify your TV downloads directory. For me that happened to be the flexraid TV folder that Emby also happens to scan. It is my "completed" area. After specifying that folder, Sickrage scans for subfolders and reads/creates a hidden nfo for your episodes to determine where you are for each series it finds. I'm fairly certain it asks you which series you want to add before adding them as well

Here are a couple of excellent howto guides on setting up sickrage and then configuring it to run as a service on a windows platform.

Similar, but doesn't run as a service
