Trailers Plugin Ideas

To whomever it may concern, myself and the three humble, albeit microscopic minions running my warped mind, have some ideas that we feel could greatly improve the functionality feature wise regarding the Trailers plugin.

 

First the trailers plugin should have two new distinct and toggle-able functions.

The first being a "toggle field" in setup where you can turn off the initial "TRAILERS" field at the beginning or entrance into MBC.

 

Second another "toggle field" in setup where you can turn on a feature that would allow the RANDOM automation of all of those newer trailers that fall within the confines of that initial "TRAILERS" field at the entrance to MBC. In this feature, once the screen times out and MBC in the actual program or in the extender, is prompted for the screensaver, those trailers should play in a limitless random playlist that DOES NOT DUPLICATE, unless interrupted.

 

Personally, I think that would be awesome. As often as when we watch movies and shows, we often are in the middle of doing other things, and what better way to utilize that time to refresh our memories regarding the movies and shows we should be on the look out for? Also it would add a level of control and customization that we as MBS/MBC/MBT users can even essentially control our commercials. If that does not say that we are using the greatest MediaBrowsing system ever, what does?

Both are good ideas, but both would actually be theme or client specific. Meaning whatever client your using would be what displays the trailers. The plugin just gets the data. So the theme or client would need a toggle to turn off the display. Same thing with getting a random one.

It's mainly ebr working on Chocolate now, I believe.  I'd recommend not beating him, however...

The random trailer thing sounds like a screen saver - which has been requested in the past.  Would be best to be a plug-in so it isn't' tied to a specific theme.
