smalik0 3 Posted July 24, 2015 Posted July 24, 2015 (edited) I just updated my Emby server to the latest release yesterday, and today I noticed that I am unable to access the server from a network, either local or WAN. It was working previously, and I did not make any setting changes since the last time the server was working. I can only access the dashboard from the machine which the server is running from; I tried to access it multiple times both from the iOS MB Mobile app and a browser from both on the local network and through the internet, and was unable to connect. Here is my log: http://pastebin.com/Ts7YsZaV server-63573454463.txt Edited July 26, 2015 by smalik0
Luke 38850 Posted July 24, 2015 Posted July 24, 2015 See here: http://emby.media/downloads/mac-server/ Have you ever done the configuring hosts part? the errors in the log suggest that probably needs to be done.
smalik0 3 Posted July 26, 2015 Author Posted July 26, 2015 Yes, I did that. The server now won't play media on any device; it can be accessed, and the library is visible, but no media will play. I have attached a new log to my original post.
simon baker 0 Posted August 16, 2016 Posted August 16, 2016 i just added the emby app to my roku 3. I then went through the install steps on my mac and cannot get either to connect. I did the initial load of my library, but cannot even get back to it to view the progress. I just keep getting prompts to add a server. I thought this was supposed to be easy?

So you setup your library using the server web interface, right? 1
simon baker 0 Posted August 16, 2016 Posted August 16, 2016 not sure really. Just followed the step on the Roku app. It gave me a pin to enter on my computer. I was able to get all the way through to add my library on my computer. It said the screen would update once the step was complete. When I got back to the app, it was asking me to connect to a server...lost!

simon baker 0 Posted August 16, 2016 Posted August 16, 2016 Luke, I have the icon of the two monitors in my applications, but clicking on it does nothing.
Luke 38850 Posted August 16, 2016 Posted August 16, 2016 Luke, I have the icon of the two monitors in my applications, but clicking on it does nothing. It should open and create an Emby icon in your system tray, near the clock. Do you see that? You can click that icon to launch the emby web interface. 1
simon baker 0 Posted August 16, 2016 Posted August 16, 2016 ok, I screwed around a little bit and made it back to my dashboard. I can see where it says remote access, but I cannot seem to get the server to work with the app on my iPhone 6 either
simon baker 0 Posted August 16, 2016 Posted August 16, 2016 I cant seem to get the server entered in to my roku or my iphone. which number am I supposed to be entering?
simon baker 0 Posted August 16, 2016 Posted August 16, 2016 it keefs saying to ensure the server is available
Luke 38850 Posted August 16, 2016 Posted August 16, 2016 Hi, sorry to hear about this. On the front page of your Emby Server dashboard it displays the local address. That is what you can use in-network when trying to connect from the ios app or the roku app.
simon baker 0 Posted August 17, 2016 Posted August 17, 2016 Is it the http port or the https port? there are two numbers on my dashboard and neither seem to work. They are both 4 digits. As well, how much of the server number do I enter? There is a large section highlighted in green beginning with http:// then there are a 4 sections of numbers separated by a period, then there is another colon, then the http port number again. Any help would be great!! Sorry, these probably seem like stupid questions! Lol.
noremacyug 3 Posted August 26, 2016 Posted August 26, 2016 (edited) You enter the complete IP address of the computer that has emby server installed. It would look something like this. Http://192.168.1.1:8096 Oviously your IP address is likely different. Edited August 26, 2016 by noremacyug 1
