I would like to report this issue with ffmpeg and mpegts in North America.

When ffmpeg is called this is the command:

Is there an option somewhere in Emby to remove the three MAP options: -map 0:0 -map 0:1 -map -0:s

Or does this need to be reported to the ffmpeg comunity?

Edit: I have just updated ffmpeg to 3.2.2 and the issue still occurs...

Edit2: The Map commands fail since VDR provides the full stream to the application. There is no stream 0, 1 and s (subtitle) I would think that hard coded values are bad anyway as the streams are dynamic (BTW this used to work in an older version of Emby!). The removal of the map option allows ffmpeg to select the correct stream from the input automatically. It would be beneficial to allow for a flag that removes the map options when a live stream is provided. How would I get a change like this into the Emby Source Code? Maybe some type of GUI option to turn this off and on?

No sorry, i can't do anything. I have no knowledge about VDR or Linux.

I'm also not sure if my statement is true, but it looks like that. By a quick look at the Kodi VDR addon sources, it seems they are using a custom demuxer to get the right channel from the stream.

A simpler approach would be to use one of VDR's UPNP/DLNA plugins to get only one channel.

that's the info that came from ffprobe. you should be able to find the command line that was used for ffprobe in the server log.

There is nothing showing a call to ffprobe (but it must be doing it to get some data)... below is the log from the server side.... it shows both video and audio index are -1

The other thing you can try is disabling the probe by setting a property on the MediaSourceInfo. That has it's own downsides but it's something you can try. But ultimately if there's a problem somewhere in the map args or the probe, we're going to fix it, we're not just going to take it out.

You are correct the probe is important, especially if you wanted to specify a different language for example. I would like to continue to debug this, so lets start by getting the probe information.... how do I enable the debug?

Ok here is a new release that disables the probe of the live stream, it will rely on ffmpeg to find the correct stream. Note that this works on my standard definition channels, but for some odd reason fails to put out the video on h264 (it finds the sound).... I say "odd reason" because if I kill the ffmpeg process and cut and past the same command from the ffmpeg-transcode log file it works!

Ok, I have upgrade my server to the newer version of Emby 3.1.2 and my plugin no longer works... I get the following error.... any ideas?
