OK, just updated my friend's app to the latest version, but once the 'Loading MediaBrowser3' disappears, he just gets a blank screen.

There is a library scan running, which seems to be taking ages, but he can access everything in the web client.

Will post a server log when the scan is finished, as I'm wondering if it is this that is causing the blank screen.

Mine does the same thing if I start the app up when a library scan is already going on.  After the initial loading screen I get a dark screen with the time in the corner is all.  Once the scan is done the app starts right up with no issues.  My scans have really taken a long time and use a lot of cpu cycles since the last big update.

Seeing the same, minus the time.

Library scans are horrendous lately.

The scan has been running for 20 minutes now and only on 31%!!

He's running latest beta as well.

I'm getting the same issue with mine. I just updated to the latest version today, and started having this problem. I also have a blank grey screen with the time in the corner.

EDIT: Also, the clock is an hour behind for some reason. The correct time is set on my device though

Ya, it didn't adjust for daylight savings time for those of us who observe that.  The time was good until then I believe.  Maybe there is a different field the app can get the time from since the tv auto adjusts

Is the app completely not functional or only during library scans?

My experience is that it will not load during a scan though I've never waited to see what happens once the scan is done because my scans now run 20 - 30 minutes long where as before the recent server updates they only ran about 3 minutes. I get the loading MB like CBers sees and a black screen with the time in the corner. I usually then just exit and wait for the scan to finish. My computer gets a lot slower now during scans too

I could wait next time until the scan is finished to see what happens, maybe it will come to life afterward. I could try and force a scan during playback also to see what happens then.

Hmm to me it sounds like the app is waiting for a response but due to the server scanning busy it doesn't send one - the issue is my scans are rather quick so its difficult for me to replicate!

I will try - if i can see what its hanging on maybe i could at least put a message up with a retry button or something...

I still can't seem to get mine to work, regardless of library scan or not. Still the grey screen with clock in the corner. V0.588 I believe... I updated just a few days ago.

@@pmac - have you tried removing so or all of your libraries in Emby and see if it's content related?

Just rebooted my Emby server PC and whilst the library scan was running (~12%), I was still able to start and use the app, although it did take longer to start than normal.

No, I haven`t done that, but I had no problems whatsoever with v0.555. The update just seems to have bricked my Samsung app for some reason.

The content in my libraries is all the same content I had before the app stopped working, other than a few new TV episodes.

The unfortunate part, is I just finished giving my brother my Android Mini-PC that I was using on our bedroom TV before I started using @@chessdragon136's app, now I can't access Emby from bed...

Is there any way I'd be able to roll back to v0.555? I'd rather not have to use DLNA, since it doesn't quite have the same WAF

I can provide this at the weekend - However what I would really like to do is to start at a working version and work forward to the point you cannot use the app.

Then I may be able to identify why...

I'd be willing to experiment with different versions to narrow down what seems to be causing the issue. I only suggested v0.555 because that was the last one that I know worked 100% for me. It had been a while since I updated, so I didn't get a chance to try anything in between that and the current release

0.555 or 0.588 same problem here : grey screen with only the time in the lower right corner after the first "loading emby" screen.

No library scan is running but Media Browser Server process (32 bits only ???) uses 30% of CPU with no user connected !

Latest version of the server, my TVs are a Samsung UE46F6320 and a Samsung UE55F7000

Edit: hmmmm I did supress the app and reinstall it (same version : 0.588) and it worked again ! Stupid me for not thinking about that soluton before.

Is there some hidden config stored within the app/tv with the server adress for example ? And if that adress changes the app does not load anymore ?

What do you mean by suppress the app? I'd like to try and see if that works for me.

Uninstall the previous version and start fresh?

That's what I figured he meant. I've tried that a couple times, unfortunately it didn't change anything for me though...

Yes, sorry for my poor english, I meant uninstall the previous version and install it again.

Hi, I had a blank screen too for a few days, I uninstalled and installed the latest version and all good but I since discovered the probable cause of my particular problem was because my server IP changed, The app is set to auto login so I'm assuming it can't find the server and there is no catch to prompt you to reconfigure the connection settings...?
