Deathsquirrel 743 Posted February 14, 2015 Posted February 14, 2015 Currently you can group movies into collections as an option in the Web Ui. The clients generally respect this. This grouping only happens in the Movies tab and equivalent views in the clients. For example, you see your collections in the Movies tab in the web ui and the Movies section of MBT but if you go to genres in either tool you will see movies that aren't grouped into collections. Also, if you look at the Movies tab and apply a filter, like showing HD titles only, the collections aren't used. This is confusing and slows down my browsing. I'm grouping movies so large lists of titles are easier to scroll through. I request that the grouping into collections be respected in the Genres tab and when looking at the Movies tab with a filter enabled.
ebr 15331 Posted February 14, 2015 Posted February 14, 2015 The problem is that not all members of any given collection may fit the intended filter (genre or HD or whatever). Therefore, we can't just display the collection.
Deathsquirrel 743 Posted February 15, 2015 Author Posted February 15, 2015 It wouldn't be possible to show collections with an item that meets the criteria? Pity.
ebr 15331 Posted February 15, 2015 Posted February 15, 2015 It wouldn't be possible to show collections with an item that meets the criteria? Pity. Yes it would but then you will have potentially incorrect results as not all the items being shown to you may match the criteria you selected.
Deathsquirrel 743 Posted February 15, 2015 Author Posted February 15, 2015 Not an issue for me as I manage my genres by hand but probably not workable for most folks. Fair enough.
darkassassin07 515 Posted July 30, 2017 Posted July 30, 2017 (edited) Couldn't you display a collection if any item matches a filter then in the collections item list grey out or simply not display items that do not match? Applying the filter within the collection essentially? And/or a toggle for this feature. Edited July 30, 2017 by darkassassin07
