robbieculture 0 Posted December 28, 2014 Posted December 28, 2014 I am having a specific problem when I play MKV files in mb classic using the default player, that is the mkv will only output audio in stereo pcm format. I then use as a work round MPC-HC as an external player and the mkv will play in 5.1. I am sure there must be an easier solution. Has anyone had a similar problem or have a better solution?
hedgehogg 104 Posted December 28, 2014 Posted December 28, 2014 The default player is WMP for that to handle mkv's etc you'll need to install a codec pack - I use Shark007 for my setup .... being HTPC to amp via S/PDiF Hope it helps
AdrianW 1055 Posted December 28, 2014 Posted December 28, 2014 Yes, you'll need some codecs - I've used Shark007 in the past. But, using MPC-HC is actually a good idea - for a few reasons, the main one being that you can configure it to change refresh rates based on the content being played.
Latchmor 584 Posted December 28, 2014 Posted December 28, 2014 Hi, LAV Filters sorted this out for me http://mediabrowser.tv/community/index.php?/topic/726-windows-media-center-internal-player-mb-classic-and-lav-filters-guide/
ebr 15576 Posted December 28, 2014 Posted December 28, 2014 You also need to be sure you have configured WMC for 5.1 sound.
