Official Roku Client - Increase Persistence of "play to roku"

The youtube client on the roku has some sort of persistence so that even if i am in the mb3 client on roku..i can still play youtube content to the roku...

Does the roku ecosystem allow for MB3 roku client to have the same sort of persistence.

 

 

(i use my mobile to play music content to the roku, as the search functionality is currently too limited/useabilty constrained by onscreen keyboard)

found this whilst searching...seems like its not possible to run 3rd party apps as services..but there is a workaround to launch channels remotely....if MB3 was happy to persist client roku sessions which had dropped off and continue to present them to 'play to' ui.
