TheShanMan 38 Posted Thursday at 04:17 AM Posted Thursday at 04:17 AM In the attached image you can see that Emby is adding black bars on all sides of my 4x3 content on my 4x3 TV. The content itself has no black bars on any side. This displays fine on Theater. Therefore it doesn't seem to be a server issue. Is there an app setting that would fix this or is this a bug?

Which Emby app are you reporting the issue on? Please me more specific and attach the information requested in how to report a media playback issue. Thanks!
TheShanMan 38 Posted Thursday at 02:58 PM Author Posted Thursday at 02:58 PM As stated in the title, it's the new app, and this is the windows forum. Is there a special name for it? I'm not sure how it's generally distinguished from Theater, but I thought the way I was saying it would be clear. I guess requesting logs implies this is a bug. I can get the server log no problem but I haven't been able to find where the logs for the new app are stored.

TheShanMan 38 Posted Thursday at 04:07 PM Author Posted Thursday at 04:07 PM Yeah that's what I thought but Sean was unclear for some reason. Thanks. If someone can tell me where to get the log files for the new app, I can share that as well as my server log. 1
65535 7 Posted Thursday at 04:11 PM Posted Thursday at 04:11 PM In the app settings, go to About and click Log Files at the top. 1 1
softworkz 4527 Posted Friday at 01:58 PM Posted Friday at 01:58 PM This image is confusing me. How does it look like when the app is maximized (not full-screen)?
TheShanMan 38 Posted Friday at 10:24 PM Author Posted Friday at 10:24 PM I don't know. When in browsing mode (not playing a vid), it appears to be full screen, but keep in mind this is an analog CRT so the edges are cut off, which means I can't see title bars or whatever. Finally grabbed the log files. The server log was quite large so I trimmed the irrelevant stuff. In case you want a little context with my setup... I have this set up as a 2nd monitor on my htpc for when I want to watch black and white tv shows and black and white 4x3 movies on it. So Emby normally runs on my big flat screen, and then my remote can disable one monitor, enable the other, and restart emby there. softworkz 4527 Posted Friday at 10:31 PM Posted Friday at 10:31 PM When you put the app in windowed mode on the big flat screen, resize it to an approximate 4:3 size and play that video, what happens - how does it look like?
TheShanMan 38 Posted Friday at 10:52 PM Author Posted Friday at 10:52 PM It fills the window correctly. Forgot to mention that some of my 4:3 videos have this problem and some don't. And to reiterate from my original post, this doesn't happen with Theater.
softworkz 4527 Posted Friday at 10:59 PM Posted Friday at 10:59 PM When you make the window small and move it to the 4:3 TV, then hit the "Maximize" button at the right top (NOT Fullscreen) - what happens then? And then what happens when you go into full-screen (by F11 key or OSD)?
TheShanMan 38 Posted Saturday at 11:54 PM Author Posted Saturday at 11:54 PM When I move it and then maximize, the bars appear. And switching to full screen also has the bars.
softworkz 4527 Posted Sunday at 02:41 AM Posted Sunday at 02:41 AM I think the issue is that hw acceleration doesn't work for this video output. Can you please try to set the video quality preference back to the default (Balanced)?
