Greetings all - rookie here (but I'm getting there... )
I've setup my emby server: Win11 pro, 8g of ram, SSD for C and 3TB mechanical for recording.  AMD Phenom 4core  (I know it's old but it still runs good)  The clients are 2 windows 11 pro and 3 Amazon firesticks.
When I run the Android emby app on the firesticks and tap Live TV / Channels the only ones that show are the ones I've marked as favorites. They do in-fact tune ok.

Tuners:  HDHR Flex 4k (4 OTA tuners), M3U file from an IPTV provider. I downloaded the original file from the provider and edited out tons of stuff I'll never use. Once that was done, on the emby server I selected 30 or so channels for my favorites (all streaming channels).

Windows emby client - LiveTV / Channels - I see favorites, the OTA channels then followed by remaining streaming channels.  Sort order is fav's first then file order.

Android emby client - LiveTV / Channels - All I see is favorites - no OTA channels or any that are not marked as favorites.
I thought I checked everything in the server setup and I did review the docs but I can't find anything referencing this behavior.
Anyone else seen this ?  Is my m3u file still too large ?

Also: Guide Data - I read in the docs to use the Emby Guide data - does this hold true if I'm using a rather large .m3u from from an IPTV provider ? optionally I can download the xmltv file from the IPTV Provider and make it available locally.  Thoughts ?

Thanks in advance

Hi.  Make sure you don't have a filter set for favorites only in the app.

I am having the same problem. I have been using the Emby app that I downloaded onto my Samsung TV and could just hit left on my remote to enter the browsing menu.

About a week ago, I got a firestick MAX 4k and switched to using the Emby app on the firestick. It works really well but just today I tried to get into the browsing menu (not the search but the browsing menu) and I cannot for the life of me figure out where to go to browse content on Emby on the firestick.

Any guidance or help here would be appreciated,  thanks

@ The_Darcman
Greetings - I've not figured it out either now I also have a couple of PC's attached to the network, when they run the emby client they work as expected - I see the Fav's and then the rest of the selections. I also have the emby app (Android) installed on my Sony Bravia TV - same issue, and several Amazon Firesticks - it does not matter if they are 4K or recently a 4K MAX - same issue - just favorites show in Live TV.

Perhaps someone will figure this out.  And on another note the Android app (in my humble opinion) could use some work - on a big screen TV there seems to be no-way to get a better view (more compact).  The view from a PC is WAY better.
Am I missing something here ? is there another app or something that needs to be added on for the Android side?
Thanks everyone.

Hey Jan, actually, I figured it out on my own this morning.

Someone had mentioned the filters so I took another look at the settings and played around with a few things and now it works just fine.

Through your firestick, open the Emby app, click on settings, click on home screen layout.

You will see 2 columns, the left hand column is titled: Home Screen Rows (in order). You NEED to have "My Media" (small or large, doesn't matter) as one of the things showing.

Back out, let it reset and when you are on the home page scroll down to wherever you put My Media, and you now have access to the full browsing menu!

The issue was simply us being used to hitting left to bring up that menu, works a little differently on the firestick app. Hope this helps you!

Thanks to all that replied - yes in playing around with filters and such I must have had Fav's set - got it all working now.

Unfortunately I've a ton of other issues too.  I'll post those separately.

Thanks to all that replied.
