piecesofme 1 Posted April 5 Posted April 5 Hi, Trying to sort out a few issues that have cropped up with Emby over the last 18 months or so we can return to using it full time. After one of the last few updates, I’ve had issues adding my Emby server to Emby Connect within my local network. 1) I have no issues entering my IP:Port address into the browser and going right to my Emby Server. The Mac Mini running Emby is setup with a static IP within my router. 2) Previously, I could log into Emby Connect, if my server wasn’t showing up, I could add it, and that was it. 3) Currently, when I log into Emby Connect, no servers are found so it asks for the IP address, I enter it and it says “cannot find server” (or something similar). Again, entering IP address directly into browser continues to work. 4) I tried to switch to the non-https version of the URL but I’m concerned that means that my Emby Connect username/password will be send unencrypted which seems like a bad idea for security. I’m bringing this up because I thought that I could previously use the https for entering my credentials while using the http for the actual server address but that doesn’t seem possible now (maybe it never was, but I still don’t know what was allowing things to work before). Can anyone confirm if I use the http address to enter my credentials, will that pose the potential security risk that it seems? Thanks so much in advance for any help. I’ve really missed using Emby and the beautiful interface. I know some folks talk about Plex’s “polished interface” but I 100% prefer the way that Emby looks/acts. And that’s not even going into the privacy issues which Emby handles so much better. Setup info: Running Emby 4.8.11.0 on latest MacOS (Mac Mini, M1). Primary interface devices are AppleTV (V2, & V3 w/Ethernet).
