JGCryer 1 Posted February 19 Posted February 19 I am moving from one ununtu server, that was running docker and emby sever to one running unraid. I have the back up folder and the data in it. The unraid server version of emby doen't see the backup to restore it. Is there a way can stop the docker and just copy the files over to the correct locations in ssh? If so what are the correct locations to place the files in the restore directory I have?
Luke 39319 Posted February 19 Posted February 19 Quote The unraid server version of emby doen't see the backup to restore it. Did you configure the backup on the new server to point to your existing backup path? If no, then I would do that. If yes, then you probably want to understand why it can't see the path before you proceed further.
JGCryer 1 Posted February 19 Author Posted February 19 yes i did, but the fact that there isn't a restore button that is always there and when i click it it ask for a file location isn't the easiest way to handle this. Luke I have read your replies on backups before, and on using the backup and restore plugin. why can't just just document the locations of where the files, so this banter back and forth is minimized?
JGCryer 1 Posted February 19 Author Posted February 19 don't worry about it. Ill handle on my own, like everything with emby
Luke 39319 Posted February 19 Posted February 19 The restore button is only there if a backup has been detected. What value would there be in showing the button if there’s nothing to restore. What you need to do is configure the backup to the sane location that you had it on the first server. Not a subfolder or a parent folder but the same one. Once you do this, then you’ll have a restore button.
JGCryer 1 Posted February 20 Author Posted February 20 If anyone is looking for this answer also, the correct location for the files to be placed or backed up from, is your emby instillation folder /data (ie: /emby/data) don't be scared to over write what is in that folder and make sure the premissions are correct and the owner. 1
