scrolling genre / tag views that show movies in a single scrolling row per genre

most of the popular streaming services do this - they show you a single scrolling row of movies (or whatever) for "action" then another single scrolling row of movies for "horror" etc etc. it's an easy format to browse because it shows you a lot of movies on the screen at once, with minimal interaction in terms of clicking, which is good when using a remote on a TV, you can browse a different genre with a single click up or down, and browse inside the selected genre by clicking left or right, and you can easily see if a given genre is of interest or not because you can see at least some of the contents of it without having to do anything

the current Emby views, where genres (or tags) are just presented on their own very dull page as a list of "folders", and you have to click into one to navigate inside it before you can actually see the movies there, this is very outdated. it requires a lot of back and forth if you're not sure what you want to watch, and much of this time is spent on a page that doesn't even show you any movies whatsoever. all the back and forth is very cumbersome when using a TV remote which makes it slow and annoying to use - browsing a different genre from the one you're looking at requires you to press "back", then use the D pad to select a different genre (at least one more click) then press "ok" to select it, a minimum of 3 button presses, two of which cause the entire page to fully reload. on a TV app on an infra red remote, this is *slow* and feels like effort. and then when the genre you selected in fact only contains a handful of movies you aren't interested in - effort wasted to discover you could have just ignored that one

it would be much nicer to have views that work as described, giving a scrolling row of covers per genre, so you can navigate through the different genres with a simple up and down, able to see the movies within each genre at a glance (so you can quickly see if its worth ignoring that genre, and just keep scrolling), and browse within the contents of a genre with left and right if it looks interesting. this is much faster to get around when using cumbersome interfaces like TV remotes, and also wouldn't ever leave you looking at a dull view of just plain genres or tags in a list on its own (a UI hangover I think we have largely moved on from in 2025). they could just be added as additional views so none of the existing views would even need to be removed or changed. I really feel this would improve the "idk what to watch today" experience enormously on Emby

If I may comment, think they'd like to have something like the Home page, but for Genres.. So (as well as the Home Page of course), there would be another page with rows titled Action, Adventure, Animation etc with a scrolling horizontal row for each of the appropriate movies.

Something like -

I do not want anymore forced scrolling horizontal rows! This is getting ridiculous.
