As you can see in this image, we can now see duplicates of the same movies.

Duplicated movies are located in both Movies and Movies SLO library.

Options to fix duplicates:

1. In library settings allow us to disable those movies to be searchable. (So I could disable searches in Movies SLO library)

2. Prioritisation. In each library settings we could set prioritisation. By default it can be the same as in all other libraries (so by default it would show duplicated movies - like it does now), but if you set priority in Movies SLO library higher than in Movies library, than the search would only return Kung Fu Panda from Movies SLO and skip the one in Movies.

Second option would be in my opinion the best one as it would return user in searches the movie from library with the highest priority.

Movies SLO in my case are movies that are synchronised in Slovenian language. So if I give certain user (Slovenian users) access to Movies SLO library, than I also want in their searches for available searched movies to come from Movies SLO library.

Currently emby requires multiple different movie versions to be within the same folder/library and to follow the naming convention outlined in the documentation, otherwise you end up with duplicate entries like what you see.

https://emby.media/support/articles/Movie-Naming.html

A lot of people (myself included) have been hoping for support for emby to automatically merge versions of the same movie stored in different folders to better support a variety of different scenarios.

Yours is one such use case where you have versions with different languages and only want certain users to get that version. Another use case (the one I'd like to be able to implement) would be to have separate folders for 1080p and 4k movies so that it's possible to restrict access to the 4k versions to avoid unnecessary load on the server from transcoding.

Hopefully this is something we'll see in the near future as it is a bit frustrating having to keep everything under a single folder to avoid duplicate library entries.

There are some plugins that can help with that.

Wouldn't that group movies in both 1080p and 4k folders and even tho user does not have access to 4k folder, he will still be able to pick it from a drop down menu?

Another thing is that my movies are managed by Radarr (I want to keep some movie metadata in title, to allow other applications like Radarr faster and more accurate imports). But this would also make it harder for users to pick the right one from a drop down menu. You can see from the image that it is really not user friendly.

So for me the best option would be to implement prioritisation on libraries. If prioritisation number of 2 or more libraries is the same than show duplicates (like it does now). But if I set prioritisation of 4k library higher than 1080p one, and user has access to 4k library, then show only the movie once from 4k library (Everywhere from searches to continue to watch...).

Another suggestion would be to show per library search results to the user.

Currently we can see duplicated movies which is really bad user experience as user won't know which one is 1080p and which one is 4k until he chooses one.

To solve this issue we can show movies / series per library:

And the order of showing movies per library in search should be the same as defined by user for home screen.

So from this example it should be:

1. Movies

2. Movies 4K

3. Movies SLO

4. Series

5. Anime

6. Collections

You can fix movie duplication by organizing your library, using duplicate file finders, or managing metadata with tools like Plex or Kodi.

This is something that should be integrated in Emby by default, not even required by Emby plugin. At least this method:
