Emby for Android TV - Android App

The android version of the app on my google tv has been giving some problems so here are a frw suggestions/feedback

The app on android tv lacks animations , i.e when moving the selectir on home screen it just abruptly jumps to the next selection without animation but the animation inside the player works fine

 

The biggest problem so far is that

The movies which would play fine on native android tv app after transcoding do not start to play on the android version of the app

I have a few movies and tv shows with true hd audio and my tv would just transcode and play it fine but the android version does not

 

The android tv app on home screen When the enhanced home screen option is enabled does not show backdrop and title while jist on the my media section but the android version is showing backdeop of a single movie in the enhanced screen way but it cycles to different movies only when going to something else and hovering,  however i dont want to have this displayed on my media section and want only on my latest media section just like the android tv version

 

 

Also it does not ask for user on startup

By play it fine i mean that it atleast plays which is the most basic expectation that i had after seeing that the android tv app would eventually be replaced by the android app

So i was coming from the worry that somehow the android tv app would be deleted and it atleast played but the new app would not

And i could choose software decoding

I do now know that the android tv app would not vanish just now

 

As for the log I've attached the log multiple times and photos on the other ongoing thread

Yes, i tried with 3.4.36 right now and same result

UPDATE

Hey Luke, I just checked maybe my server wasn't updated or something but after i restarted my server pc again today and i just checked many movies that were transcoding before all of a sudden started to direct play

Although they do lose DV and play HDR only

Even True HD audio is direct playing now

 

 

For example with software decoding i get DV but with the audio output set to auto before i would just get transcoding now it does direct play but not in DV

Hey there I'm not sure i can answer your question.

I have always had http stream, cannot recall any time it was HLS.

Maybe Luke or ebr could answer that

That means it is playing the raw file.  HLS would mean it is being repackaged somehow.

on my LeTv when i try to install the android TV package with unknown resources turned on it says "prasing issue " it wont let me install the android TV app it will only let me install the normal Android version (but with this version the remote doesn't work only a mouse works) 

i Fixed the issue:   I had downloaded the amazon store version and it wasn't working i tried the google version from the github repo and it works fine.. 

this post actually can be deleted.
