Hi everyone,

I’m experiencing a frustrating issue when playing videos from my library using Emby. All videos seem to play rotated by 90° (to the left), but the same files play perfectly fine on other devices and media players.

Here are some details about the issue:

  • The problem occurs on my Fire TV.
  • I’ve tried using external media players (e.g., VLC and MX Player) on the Fire TV, but the same rotation issue persists.
  • The files are mostly MP4 and MKV, with correct orientation metadata when checked on a computer.
  • Videos play without issues on other devices (PC, smartphone, etc.).
  • I’ve experimented with different playback settings in Emby (e.g., transcoding, direct play), but nothing seems to help.

It feels like there might be a hardware or software conflict specific to the Fire TV. Has anyone encountered this before or found a solution? Is there a workaround or setting I’m missing, either in Emby or the Fire TV itself?

Thanks in advance for any advice or guidance!

Hi, they shouldn't because they get anonymized. But you can always send them over PM if you prefer.
