secagratis 21 Posted January 6 Posted January 6 Hi, I write to signal an issue with Emby and STRM files. In my Emby due few HDD space I use some remote hosting websites to keep my files, with a local generator script that returns direct link to files via a Web HTTP server. Each STRM file contains an HTTP link to local generator, containing the hosting website name and file id. When a generator link is called (via Emby or standard web browser) in backend a temporary direct link to the file is generated and returned at client via HTTP 302 code. In last month (more or less) Emby often fails to reproduce media from STRM files (that systems works for years). In generator logs I see a very huge number of requests from Emby to link in STRM file (about 100). I tested the same link generated (there is a cache that keep the link generated for 5 minutes to avoid multiple useless generations) with web browser and works without issues. Can be a recent Emby issue when handling HTTP links returning code 302 (instead of 200)? Thanks in advance
Luke 38863 Posted January 6 Posted January 6 HI, normally this url would get fed into ffmpeg, so it really just depends on how it handles it. I'm really not sure. Probably best to look at an example to see what happened. Thanks.
