Merci!
Luke 39008 Posted December 28, 2024 Posted December 28, 2024 Hi, what metadata fetchers are enabled on the library, and in what order?
TylerDurden67 5 Posted December 28, 2024 Author Posted December 28, 2024 Merci pour ta réponse Luke, J'ai activé MovieDB et après OpenMovieDB
Luke 39008 Posted December 28, 2024 Posted December 28, 2024 Hi, did you check what MovieDb has for those two titles? Does it have a french description?
Luke 39008 Posted December 28, 2024 Posted December 28, 2024 OK please try refreshing the metadata on those titles and see if it helps get the french description. Thanks.
Luke 39008 Posted December 28, 2024 Posted December 28, 2024 Did you check the external id's in the metadata editor for those titles? are they correct?

Luke 39008 Posted December 31, 2024 Posted December 31, 2024 Hi, is the metadata locked for the series in the metadata editor?
Luke 39008 Posted January 30 Posted January 30 Hi @TylerDurden67 @sa2000can look into this with you and try to figure out why you're not getting the correct language metadata. Thanks. 1
sa2000 293 Posted January 31 Posted January 31 Hi @TylerDurden67 So I understand that you described 3 problems: 1. Overview/Description for some movies is in English when it should be in French 2. Editing metadata to change the description/overview text does not get saved and is lost 3. TV Series Season view screen not showing the actual episode title but part of the filename Would be good to get a copy of your library.db file so I can browse it and try and understand more and help me with the investigation. I will send you a link with instructions to upload a zip of the database English Description issue For the first one, could you give me the exact folder name/filename for the movie in the library - lets pick this as one to investigate "La Grande Bagarre de Don Camillo (1955)" Also could you try creating a brand test new library with French language selection for metadata/images etc and same metadata sources and just have a the folder for this movie in it and see if that too has the issue where the overview is in English Editing overview in Edit Metadata issue Could you enable debug logging (see server settings / logs / settings) and attempt to edit the overview and then save the changes and then open it again to see if the edits got saved. Download the emby server log after this and upload here with info on what you edited and what time TV Episode titles issue Does this happen on only some of the series ? For Dune Season 1, could you give me all the folder names/filenames Also open up Edit Metadata for each of the series, the season and episode 1 and get screenshots
TylerDurden67 5 Posted January 31 Author Posted January 31 hi @sa2000 thanks for your help ive done somes extra 'refresh library' and metadata (i also deleted .nfo files which give me more accurate result),somes like don camillo or tusla king got correct description in french, tusla king got no more filename as title. but i can give you others example,as its totally random( like alien3,hot shots!) all my library are in french for metadata/image,even imdb id are pointing to french section. tv épisodes: dune 1,silo( the worst, filename as title, mix between saison 1 and 2(S2e1 us recognized as s1E1 ans editing metadata does nothing)), V (description in spanish) all are structured like this: tvshowname\saisonnumber\Tvshowname.sxxexx.....mkv i'll check the debug log tomorrow, hard day work..

OK - so all the earlier reported issues are resolved and probably were due to the nfo files On 31/01/2025 at 20:50, TylerDurden67 said: v épisodes: dune 1,silo( the worst, filename as title, mix between saison 1 and 2(S2e1 us recognized as s1E1 ans editing metadata does nothing)), V (description in spanish) all are structured like this: tvshowname\saisonnumber\Tvshowname.sxxexx.....mkv i'll check the debug log tomorrow, hard day work.. One set of screenshots show wrong episodes showing for Silo - Season 1. I see you are using "Absolute" File Order instead of "Aired". As far as I know, absolute order is incompatible with season based series and season/episode numbering. So suggest you change the File Order from Absolute to Aired Date. Screenshots for Hot Shots have description in English. Is this the problem you are highlighting ? And did you delete nfo file and refresh? The screenshots did not go all the way down for the metadata settings. Further down there is a setting for language and if it inherited from the library
TylerDurden67 5 Posted February 3 Author Posted February 3 Hello, Ok i will change the 'absolute'parameter For hot shot, yes description is in english,i chosen french in settings. That's the issue. I deleted the nfo file and actualise as well. But still in english. All my metadata and library are set in french. I dont know if you can check on the database i sent to you,but if you look at tv show 'snowfall' saison 5,first épisodes got description in french, and others are in English (all 4 others saisons are all in french)

Move the files/folders for Hot Shots out of the media folder for the library and rescan and then when the scan is completed, move the series filest back again and rescan - does this fix the problem? 2. Setup a new test library with French Language and copy the Hot Shots files/folder to a new directory and use that directory for the new test library. Does this have the problem? Edited February 3 by sa2000 clarified the rescan action

TylerDurden67 5 Posted February 3 Author Posted February 3 Ok i'll try it when back home Hot shot is one exemple,i got somes others movies who have this problem too. I will move all of them and try both tests. And do your last request as well.

sa2000 293 Posted February 3 Posted February 3 @TylerDurden67 The "Hot Shots!" film is showing up as "Locked" in the database. Could you see if removing nfo file, unlocking and refreshing metadata resolves the issue

I can see episodes 1 to 4 are in French but 5 to 10 are in English. But if you go to thetvdb and check these episodes, you will see they do not have french translations Compare thetvdb entry for season 6 episode 4 here with the page for episode 5 here
TylerDurden67 5 Posted February 3 Author Posted February 3 You're right about snowfall,i havent checked it.sorry. Im still at work,i'll check later 1
