Muzamilx 0 Posted December 3, 2024 Posted December 3, 2024 Hy! I want to convert my TrueHD 7.1 Atmos to Eac3 7.1 Atmos. I know it is not done by free softwares but I have Dolby licensed software but I still don't know how to do it. I watched some movie encoder did this but I don't know how. I have all the tools required like, 1. Dolby Media Encoder 2. Dolby Encoding Engine 3. Dolby Atmos Renderer 4. Dolby Atmos Conversion Tool 5. Dolby Reference Player All these tools are registered legally but I still don't know how to do it. I covert the TrueHD Atmos file to WAVs and put in Dolby Media Encoder but I still dont get EAC3 JOC / DD+ Atmos rather it'll generate only EAC3 / DD+ without Atmos. Can anyone help me here..

A quick google search landed me here: https://professional.dolby.com/product/dolby-atmos-content-creation/dolby-atmos-conversion-tool/#gref I may have to give this a try myself as Atmos doesn't play nice with my older MiBox s'.

I have no idea, as I have no access to these tools myself, but I'm assuming you also need some sort of 'object data' to inject into the creation of the compressed EAC3 stream. As they are legally sourced and licensed tools - then I'd imagine you can contact Dolby and ask them for help ? Edited December 3, 2024 by rbjtech
Muzamilx 0 Posted December 3, 2024 Author Posted December 3, 2024 Yes I contact them but they also said the same thing "You cannot do it unless you have Atmos master file. TrueHD itself an encoded file so you cant convert it to EAC3 with atmos." That's why I'm here because some of the movies encoder did this like . BiTor, ThePunisheR etc..

So if Dolby are saying you cannot do it without the metadata file - then I suspect if somebody else has managed to do it, then it's either fake, they have obtained the metadata file from the mastering process (unlikely) - or they know more than Dolby (again, unlikely) ...
