How well does Emby run off from the latest Roku vs something on the AndroidTV platform like Nvidia Shield?

I have a couple of Roku Ultras and a Fire TV (basically running the Android TV app) and a Shield TV (Also running the Android app) and i almost never use anything other than my Ultras. I find that others interfaces to be "jerky" and just generally "crappy." 

I am semi-housebound and i use Emby for large stretches of my days and the Ultras get, by far, the most use even though it would be just as convenient to use other devices. 

There are a few limitations of the Ultras but they are minimal and there are a few Android apps (Channels DVR for one) that have no Roku equivalent. But I can switch to one of my other devices on the rare times I need to use those apps. 

I used to be able to say that I have never had a Roku fail on me but I did have one Ultra fail last week but after a full factory reset it is now recovered even though I replaced it in my setup and it has now become a backup.
