sundevil67 23 Posted November 28 Posted November 28 A while back my Emby app was bricked following an attempt to upgrade to a version that was actually no longer compatible with High Sierra, the latest OS I was able to run on my 2011 Mac Mini. It doesn't actually play any media, but I think it may be able to limp along well enough to copy essential settings & library setup to the 2020 M2 Mac Mini I finally just picked up. What would be the best way to accomplish this migration to keep all that stuff intact? I don't really know why the automated backup seems to have stopped in 2022 (attached), but in the off chance I can locate a recent folder like that living someplace else ... can anyone point me to instructions for how to restore from one of these - if there is a consensus about that actually being the best way. Actually, there hasn't been a whole lot of adjustments beyond IPTV stuff since then, so maybe it's still better than some other manual operation ... of which any kind of brutally painful on this machine with a lot of beachball staring. Thank you
sundevil67 23 Posted November 29 Author Posted November 29 I installed a new copy of Emby Server, and managed to connect my Premiere account. I'm presented with the option to create a new backup, but am confused about how to just restore from an existing backup folder. The documentation seems to leave that part out, but my main question is whether or not I'll even be able to since I've now installed the version for my new M1 computer, whereas before I was using High Sierra. It mentions adjusting the version number, but really is what I'm trying to do even possible? Do I have no choice but to recreate all of my libraries & start completely from scratch?
Luke 38528 Posted November 29 Posted November 29 HI, did you try clicking the Restore from Backup button?

It was only giving me the option to create more backups; in that section there was just no restore option unfortunately. I've started recreating all of my libraries, and will hopefully be able to get the remote access working again without too much of a headache.
Luke 38528 Posted December 5 Posted December 5 If there is no restore button then that means you did not point the backup folder to the location containing your existing backups.

I had a pretty clear path to all of the backups.. I even tried isolating one & putting it someplace else. Who knows, moot point now, had to start from scratch anyway. Now I'm wrestling with live TV issues, etc. At least I got remote access back up.
sundevil67 23 Posted Friday at 05:04 PM Author Posted Friday at 05:04 PM Something is definitely wrong with my whole Emby installation I think ... now I can't add libraries because it says there's no folder at the location but there is.. going to try and reinstall./

sundevil67 23 Posted Sunday at 05:11 PM Author Posted Sunday at 05:11 PM It's all good, I started a new backup task & will see what it looks like & if there's an option to restore. For now, I'm more concerned with not being able to get the subtitles plugin to work with my opensubtitles.com account & most of my "collections" missing. Is there a way to refresh that'll rebuild those associations?
Luke 38528 Posted Monday at 03:58 PM Posted Monday at 03:58 PM Quote Is there a way to refresh that'll rebuild those associations? HI,, refreshing the metadata on existing movies will help get collections created, if you've enabled the automatic collection feature in your movie library options.

I have enabled automatic collection - but are you saying I have to refresh the existing movies individually?
