runninboy4 0 Posted November 3, 2024 Posted November 3, 2024 Hello - I want to create my emby server and run it from my mycloud nas drive so I don't have to have a computer on to use my files. Mycloud is very confusing to me and I see there are all sorts of different options. Which one will work for my drive? I can show some screeshots.
runninboy4 0 Posted November 4, 2024 Author Posted November 4, 2024 Hello! Thanks for the response. It's hard for me to tell since I'm newer at this process. Here's my label. Does this help?
runninboy4 0 Posted November 4, 2024 Author Posted November 4, 2024 Thanks for any help. My main goal is to use emby as a DVR service and to have my music on the server.

Does this help? So this a WD My Cloud WDBCTLxxxxxxx-10 and is already upgraded to OS5 as showing in your dashborard. It is a "WD My Cloud". I think it wil be this OS5 Emby Server download: OS 5 - "My Cloud Gen 2" I came across a note when searching for Gen 2 that says Quote If the P/N ends with “-10” it is a second generation My Cloud. What does the WD Dashboard show as the name under "Settings" page? Edited November 4, 2024 by sa2000
runninboy4 0 Posted November 4, 2024 Author Posted November 4, 2024 Sounds good and I appreciate the information and help! One of the reasons I'm looking into emby is because I initially was investigating using Plex because I've heard of it and saw a demo on YouTube. Emby came up too and I am obviously looking into it now. Plex cannot run on my drive (can't wiek with a single bay drive). It sounds like emby will work just fine?
runninboy4 0 Posted November 7, 2024 Author Posted November 7, 2024 Yes, it seems to work but is finicky at times. I just have music on it right now (a relatively large catalog). Is it normal for it to be kind of slow or does it take a while to get set up? I will look into pulling the trigger on emby premium once I get a tuner in order to run my dvr through there. I see the hd homerun is the way to go. Thanks

runninboy4 0 Posted November 12, 2024 Author Posted November 12, 2024 Hello - There are approximately 155 gb of music on the drive. thanks
runninboy4 0 Posted November 17, 2024 Author Posted November 17, 2024 I would imagine so. How do I check? I have a feeling the drive might be too slow for an emby server? Is that possible?

runninboy4 0 Posted November 21, 2024 Author Posted November 21, 2024 It helps, but the server is still very slow. Do you think WD Mycloud drives are too slow to run it or is it a setting?
runninboy4 0 Posted November 22, 2024 Author Posted November 22, 2024 Stuff like this happens, even though I think it has been processed.
sa2000 352 Posted November 24, 2024 Posted November 24, 2024 Each different issue needs to be looked into and and logs would be needed covering the time when a scan completed and after when you have an issue. See How to Report a Problem If you take screenshots and supply logs, the time / date the screenshot was taken should be specified. Is the new screenshot of the photos and videos library just after adding some photos and scanning? Do the images eventually show up if you leave the page open for the library?
