Allow searching/filtering when selecting Studios, etc in FILTERS

I wanted to create a Disney Studios collection, so I went to FILTERS>Studios to select Walt Disney, which would generate a list from which I could pick & choose which movies I wanted for the collection.

When I went to the Studios selection list, it was pages & pages long and I could only scroll through it and click the box next to each name I wanted.  I also noticed that there were more than one Disney Studio, and they weren't all grouped together due to the different studio names.

What I think would be helpful would be a means to enter text into a search field, perhaps to act as a filter to produce a shorter list of studios to choose from, with a little X in the search field to clear the filter & return to the full list.  You could then jump to various sections, make selections, then to other sections to make more selections.

Though I haven't tried yet, I imagine that People & other similar lists are also fairly long & would benefit from a filter or search like this.

Maybe an alphabet column on the side to skip quickly through these lists might also be helpful.

Hi.  Doesn't this already do that?

The SEARCH function is separate from what I was trying to do.  I can search for studios in the search function, but entering DISNEY doesn't show all the movies in my collection that I wanted. Oddly enough, SEARCHing Disney only yielded 2 of my movies, though I have more than 50 Disney movies in my collection.

What I intended was to use the FILTER function (which has a studio section), so it would select all the movies made by all the selected studios. This gave me a much larger group.  However, each studio has to be selected individually by a checkbox (screenshot) via scrolling.  My suggestion was to offer a search/filter to find specific studios (or groups of them) within that very long list.

For some reason, the SEARCH function doesn't seem to yield all MY movies that match search criteria of studios and people.  Searching Tom Hanks, for example only yielded him as a person, not movies where he was appearing.  A search of Illumination Studios only yielded a collection of shorts where I had manually edited the metadata to include it.  FILTER seems to yield the results I wanted:  all my movies matching that criteria.

Hi, if you search for the name of a studio or collection, you'll see the studio or collection in the search results, not necessarily the media that they are attached to.

That was my point: SEARCH wasn't accomplishing what I was trying to do.  Using FILTER does find that content in my collection.  My feature request was to add a search function to the FILTER protocol to make selecting studios easier within FILTER (since the list is so long & some studios have several names that may not be close to each other alphabetically).

I would also like to suggest adding a PEOPLE section to the FILTER function, to allow a user to find all content in their collection involving a certain actor/director/writer, etc.  e.g: find all movies in my collection directed by Woody Allen, or starring Drew Barrymore, etc.

OK yes that makes sense. Thanks for the feedback.
