Describe Experience with CarPlay?

I just bought a new Kenwood stereo for my car and the Emby experience via CarPlay leaves A LOT to be desired. Most importantly the load time for music is debilitating. It can take upwards of five or six minutes to load a genre or artist to select from.

 

i am running Emby iOS 2.2.31 to a Kenwood DMX4710S from a QNAP NAS that is fairly high quality. I don’t have the specs handy though. But just playing music remotely to my phone without running it to CarPlay is *never* a problem.

Can people describe their experience with Emby CarPlay here please? I’d like to know if there is any setup that does work.

I really appreciate the note. Can you speak to the timeframe for a solution?

 

and sorry: while you’re looking at getting the basic functionality to work, could you please speak to whether or not an artist search by letter feature in CarPlay (I.e while driving ) would be desirable and : or feasible and / or being looked at? Don’t hold your breath on this, I have been waiting for a fix for CarPlay since ages and all I got was thanks we are looking into this….

I am experiencing the same issues. Even picking up an artist takes ages and I need to touch the screen 5 times until it moves forward. CarPlay does not work with emby app. Emby app on its own works fine.
