RonB26 1 Posted October 1, 2024 Posted October 1, 2024 @TeamB Hello, I am having an issue with the view in Kodi. I have a Folder Called Music-Flac on Emby Server (Windows 11). I've Added as a Favorite - Embycon\Emby Libraries\Music-Flac\Album Artists, and when selected, It shows the artists correctly. When selecting an artist (I.E. The Police) it will show all albums and the songs together instead of just the albums. Is there a way to stop this, or is it perhaps a Kodi issue? I've tried all sorts of things, but no luck. I even tried multiple settings in the Embycon "custom nodes" but no luck. I notice that in the "Select Values" field that for music the only choices are "MusicAlbum" or "audio" Where in the Kodi Media Type, there are "MusicAlbums", "MusicArtists" and "MusicVideos" Would it be possible (or even helpful) to add "MusicArtists" to the Select Value field? Thanks in advance for your input.
TeamB 2411 Posted October 1, 2024 Posted October 1, 2024 (edited) what version of kodi and emby are you running? message me a kodi log where you - restart kodi - reproduce the issue Edited October 1, 2024 by TeamB
RonB26 1 Posted October 1, 2024 Author Posted October 1, 2024 Kodi Version 21.1 Emby Version 4.9.0.30 It's been a while since I've done it, but I'll get you a log ASAP. Thanks!
RonB26 1 Posted October 1, 2024 Author Posted October 1, 2024 Just some additional info. Kodi is running on an NVidia Shield, Emby on a Windows 11 server.
TeamB 2411 Posted October 2, 2024 Posted October 2, 2024 can reproduce this, it has something to do with the latest Emby Beta, I will look into it. 1
Solution TeamB 2411 Posted October 4, 2024 Solution Posted October 4, 2024 This should now be fixed in the latest version on EmbyCon 1.11.30 I have released this version to the new Kodi EmbyCon repository https://faush01.github.io/embycon_kodi_repo/ You will need to switch to using this repo and reinstall EmbyCon from this new Repo to get the new version. This is due to a change I made recently to use GitGub pages to host the EmbyCon repo. - Follow the instructions above to install the new Repo - Remove the old Emby Kodi repo - Reinstall EmbCon from the new Repo 1
RonB26 1 Posted October 6, 2024 Author Posted October 6, 2024 @TeamB I seem to be having an issue with album covers. Some of them show, and some do not. When testing Roku and Android TV (NVidia Shield) All Album covers works fine. However, I had to update an older version of Android TV before it worked correctly. (It was missing the exact same album covers as Embycon). If you need any more info or logs, let me know. Thanks!
TeamB 2411 Posted October 6, 2024 Posted October 6, 2024 some are missing and some are not? yeah that is weird. try going into the embycon addon and clearing the local cahced server data EmbyCon -> AddonActions -> Clear cached server data might help, apart from that try to work out what is different between the ones that work and the ones that dont.
RonB26 1 Posted October 7, 2024 Author Posted October 7, 2024 Clearing Cache didn't work, Message was "0 Files deleted" I did find a work around. This problem started after I started to use Picard to help correctly identify my collection. It seems that when Emby server is scraping, it is not flagging/marking the album cover as the "Primary" image when it is replacing/adding the album cover. This was discovered when comparing images. The Covers that show up are showing as the "Primary" image. Once I replace the album covers either by selecting the image file, or search for a new image, it is then marked "primary" and it shows up correctly in Embycon. It's not convenient, but it works.

RonB26 1 Posted October 7, 2024 Author Posted October 7, 2024 Well, Looks like I spoke to soon. After checking today, Some of them reverted back to the way they were (Primary flag removed), and now album covers are not showing up. I'm in the process of re-doing the affected images, and will now lock the metadata down on both the artists, and the individual albums. This time I'm not updating anymore images until I know this works. Maybe @LukeMight know what's going on. After they changed back, I went into the "Album Image Fetchers" and made sure "Primary" was ticked (it was). So I unticked it, then rebooted the server, and re-ticked it. However, after rescanning the affected Artist, It would not update the image with a "Primary" image. I had to go through each album and "Edit image/Search for a new image. Select a new image, and it is saved as "Primary" Now once again, they all show up.
TeamB 2411 Posted October 7, 2024 Posted October 7, 2024 You are using the Beta server, so it might have something to do with that. It might be best to post this on the beta test forum, it might not get enough eyes on it here in the EmbyCon sub forum.

I just figured I'd start here, as the issue is only happening with Embycon. The other platforms don't exhibit this issue for some reason. 22 hours ago, TeamB said: It might be best to post this on the beta test forum, it might not get enough eyes on it here in the EmbyCon sub forum. At this time locking the metadata seems to be working. If I have anymore issues, I'll post it in the beta forum. Thanks for your help. TeamB.
