Any possibility to link a Music Artist with an Actor Profile and book Authors so you can see all related to one person in a single place ?

Additionally: Any possibility to use the same type of image for "people" everywhere (square or round - better square) ?

Hi, yes I think this would be nice, although it would be a painful manual process because there is currently no data-driven way to automatically link them.

(FWIW) Some thoughts... mainly music related...

Being consistent across the whole UI is usually the better overall approach, especially for anyone extensively using mixed media libraries/collections. However, if changes are being made in this area, it would be good to have a choice to select between square and round images (perhaps similar to how there are some View options available now).

  • A big disadvantage with the round images for music Album Artists/Artists/Composers is that musical groups of more than two people do not always fit nicely. Some people typically have their heads chopped off and it can take quite a while to find a suitable group image.
  • A big advantage with the round images is that the ‘People’ pages/views/images are very easily differentiated, at a glance, from the Album/Song media pages/views/images and all of the other supplementary pages, e.g. Tags/Genres/Folders...

I really like the differentiation, so prefer the round people images for music, and therefore have to put up with the disadvantage! Maybe some will agree with this, but I understand that others will not, perhaps preferring the square people images everywhere. (Note: I have tried the square images with custom CSS , but changed it back after 1 day!)

Having a quick look at Emby, Plex, Roon, Qobuz, Tidal, Apple Music (and many more) ... the round people images are used in the majority of cases. So, while consistency within Emby is good, similarity with comparable applications is also good.

So, rather than forcing UI consistency or only following convention, if Emby allows for choice, then you will make everyone happy!

Of course I prefer to let the user decide, but does not seems what Emby Team is doing lately, by forcing changes without any user customization possible.

If this is the case I preffer not have peoples head's cut by a round image.
