JBloom91 18 Posted September 13, 2024 Posted September 13, 2024 So I mentioned a while ago some of my music is catalogued with their cassette tracklistings (A1, A2, B1, etc). I have since then corrected the tracklistings in Emby and selected "lock this item to prevent future changes", but it seems like anytime I have to scan my library or update my metadata it just resets my adjustments. A way to either lock the track number to prevent this or just have Emby recognize cassette/vinyl tracklistings would be great so I don't have to keep fixing them ad nauseum.
JBloom91 18 Posted September 15, 2024 Author Posted September 15, 2024 It resets to a blank value. HOWEVER, locking the entire album seems to prevent this. Just means if the album gets updated at any point ala genre or record label if and when it gets implimented it won't update, but I'll just have to cross that bridge when I get to it.
JBloom91 18 Posted September 18, 2024 Author Posted September 18, 2024 NEVERMIND, it nuked the track numbers again. This sucks.
Happy2Play 9449 Posted September 18, 2024 Posted September 18, 2024 Don't see a way as currently the field only accept numbers.
Luke 40121 Posted September 18, 2024 Posted September 18, 2024 OK then yes we'll need to add locking support to these fields.

But the field would have to be changed also as it is numeric value only right now so locking it still will not let A1, B1 be a vaild input value. We already had this discussion in the other topic.

I agree, long as they appear in the correct order I'm happy, no need to go the extra mile for an issue I'm sure 0.01% of users go through, I'm just that unfortunate 0.01 lmao
Neminem 896 Posted September 20, 2024 Posted September 20, 2024 (edited) Crazy idea. name them 0101 - The Ecstasy of Gold.mp3 0102 - The Call of the Ktulu.mp3 Ect 0201 - Nothing Else Matters.mp3 0202 - Until It Sleeps.mp3 Then they show up as Disk 1 and 2. Disk 1 is still not showing as disk 1. But you will not get your a and b side of you vinyl or tape but guess its close. Edit. Not really sure if file naming is needed any more, as its all tag driven. I just name my files like this, to find them in my file system, and old habit. Edited September 20, 2024 by Neminem

Neminem 896 Posted September 20, 2024 Posted September 20, 2024 (edited) so i can call it 0102 - grandmoms potty dance.mp3 And if tags are correct it would come out as 0102 - The Call of the Ktulu.mp3 Edited September 20, 2024 by Neminem 1
