Since changing server emby connect has just refused to work. Any user that tries to connect just gets the message

" Unable to Reach emby We're unable to connect to the selected server right now. Please ensure it is running and try again "

I even setup a user for myself, received the email, confirmed the link, saw the server at https://app.emby.media/#!/startup/selectserver.html

but when clicking on the server it gives the unable to reach emby message.

what is wrong ?

Is your server setup?

Is your server showing correct local and WAN on Dashboard?

What exactly did you change here? Did the servers IP change? Have you followed the Remote Setup guide to port forward the correct port?

Yes, it works fine for me on Emby theatre. I had to use a different port no. when manually adding the server than 8096,8920 to get it to connect at first, but 8096,8920 those are the two port numbers showing on my LAN and WAN now in theatre

Also, if you haven't secured your server with TLS, then the https version of this page won't work, try removing the 's' from the URL, eg. http://app.emby.media

I upgraded my server storage size and was given a one digit different IP but was told to use a different port no. by my server admin as it wouldnt work with 8096 and 8920. But since connecting in theatre those are the two ports that show for LAN and WAN

I tried that already but brave browser keeps changing to s.

I have never understood why it is so hard getting accounts connected with emby. From past experiences it just fails time after time after time. I hate when things change bcoz I know what is in store.

Did you go into your Network settings on your Emby Server and change the ports?

Not sure I follow as Connect is optional.  But can you connect using your WAN address as shown in dashboard?

All are correct like your screenshot apart from public HTTP which is the one given to me by my server admin. Emby theatre wouldnt work without the different port no. I received

Sorry I am confused as are you manually connecting or using Connect as they are different usernames and passwords.

I manually setup the server in ET having to use a different IP and port no. that works fine.

Any emby connect account which tries to connect either my friend or my emby connect account which I am using as a test right now always fails

I have two users on my ET right now, one is my friend and the other is my test account I am using just to see if I can get connected via emby connect rn

I dont have any passwords setup for the users

Then you have to configure the browser to not do that, or setup ssl or use an installed Emby app instead.

There is no getting around browser ssl requirements.

And then the fourth option is having the users connect to your web app using direct ip address instead.

Fail

My user could not connect via emby connect at all.

Added user to server and added their email

user received email and linked their account

user opens their ET and generates pin code

user goes to the address provided in the text and enters name password and pin, pin accepted.

user goes back to ET and sees server appear with my LAN IP underneath

user tries to connect to it but will not work.

Idk waht to do anymore

Isnt the whole purpose of emby connect to allow user to easily connect on multiple devices by just entering their creds ?

Just get the "unable to reach server" message all the time.

When I setup first time I used the IP address and port to my server. I added 2 connect accounts for other users.

The server shows up for those users with the IP address underneath which is the same as my LAN address on my ET with port 8096, but when either connect account tries to connect they get the message

And are those users on your LAN?  If not they must see your WAN address.

So it still comes back to can they access your server via WAN address?  As Connect does not do anything special but allow your server to tell Connect your LAN/WAN address and then that is used.

No, all connect users I have added are not on my LAN. They are in different geo locations to me

If I give them my WAN they are able to connect but they are able to see and log into each others accounts I have added.

I should be the only admin/host.

They should all be like guest on the platform and my server, that is how I am understanding it
