shadetree 6 Posted June 19 Posted June 19 As titled, So no available turns to use, Will fill the HDD. Normal behavior: depressing the back button, stops the stream switching back to channel list. This has just changed just recently. A work-a-round is closing serverWMC deletes current streams, any other remaining can be deleted. Restart serverWMC, all is OK until attempting to change channels. Works correctly with WEB, Android, LG, & Samsung Apps embyserver-63854092800.txt theater-63854335282.txt
Solution Luke 38500 Posted June 20 Solution Posted June 20 Why not just use Emby's built-in Hauppauge support?
shadetree 6 Posted June 20 Author Posted June 20 I use WMC as backend for PVR, with the native supported Hauppauge turners. Did I miss Emby now has native Hauppauge support? Last I checked, I would need to instal the Win TV program. that I don't want to, it takes more space from the M.2 OS. anyway....is ET adding back the support to tell serverWMC when to stop chanell streams depressing the back button?
Luke 38500 Posted June 21 Posted June 21 Quote Last I checked, I would need to instal the Win TV program. that I don't want to, it takes more space from the M.2 OS. Correct, yes.
Luke 38500 Posted June 21 Posted June 21 Quote anyway....is ET adding back the support to tell serverWMC when to stop chanell streams depressing the back button? It's already there. The question is, what is the problem? That's what needs to be found out. this is the tradeoff with going the serverwmc route, which is that it's adding the extra layer of complication that has to be dealt with.
shadetree 6 Posted June 21 Author Posted June 21 OK. For now I'll use the Emby LG app on the HTPC monitor, as it closes the serverWMC streams. I perfer ET, as uses the Nvidia native UHD 4K hardware, that offers fantastic video, plays anything, and the live TV streams are hardware upscaled perfectly. The LG's engine quality cannot compare.
Luke 38500 Posted June 21 Posted June 21 It should be the same for both. How did you stop playing from LG?
shadetree 6 Posted June 22 Author Posted June 22 LG - play your selected channel, depressing the back button, stops the stream, and takes you back to channel list. The Samsung & Android apps work the same as LG's expected behavior. It did work in ET. I just discovered in ET, if you depress the back button and quickly depress the stop button it works, but only in that quick combination. embyserver.txt theater-63854643219.txt ServerWMC.log
Luke 38500 Posted July 1 Posted July 1 OK the upcoming 4.8.9 server release will have some additional logging so that we can at least confirm that the core server is informing ServerWMC to close the stream. Once that is available, please try that and then attach the emby server log again. Thanks !
shadetree 6 Posted July 2 Author Posted July 2 Ok, Stranger....that it works perfectly using the web and other apps Thanks 1
shadetree 6 Posted August 29 Author Posted August 29 Got tired of exiting serverWMC every few hours to clear and delete the large files streaming on the recording/buffer HDD to make turners available again. Uninstalled serverWMC and the emby app. Removed the WMC programs option, gave me plenty of OS space. Installed WinTV , setup Hauppauge in emby, working as expected. Channel changes are a bit slow. Didn't realise I can use different OTA sources to map all the different cities channels I receive! Thanks for the help! 1
