Takit 0 Posted May 25 Posted May 25 (edited) Hey there, First of all, a quick thank you for the hard work on Emby, it's amazing ! I recently discovered and activated the option "Group items into collections" in my Movies library. That option is a must ! I wonder how I could lived without it so far… Anyway, let's get to the point : I have some manually created collections in which grouping items doesn't make sense. For example, let's say I have a "Tim Burton" collection : I don't want the Beetlejuice, Batman and Dumbo movies grouped into a "Tim Burton" collection, but I do want to keep the Batman movies grouped into one. I thought that such collections could really benefit from a new option "prevent grouping" ( false by default ). What do you think about it ? Thanks in advance, Takit Edited June 20 by GrimReaper Topic title modified
Luke 38535 Posted May 25 Posted May 25 Hi, what about instead an option to show both collections and together? Others have requested that. 1
Takit 0 Posted May 25 Author Posted May 25 Hey, Thank you for the reply. :) I think that one of the interesting points of the grouping is to gain in clarity and ease of navigation by reducing the number of displayed elements, wouldn’t it be kind of counter productive to display both collections and movies ?
Luke 38535 Posted May 25 Posted May 25 It might. I was just asking because that has been requested several times.
Takit 0 Posted June 20 Author Posted June 20 (edited) Hey there, I’m back to propose alternatives ! 1. I saw that, on the Web App, the director is present as a clickable link next to the film, and as a ’’card’’ at the very end of the cast/crew section. On the TV app, there is no link, but it’s still present at the end of the cast/crew section. Would it be possible to put it in the first place so that it would be easily clickable ? 2. What about adding a section ’’more of this director’’ before or after the ’’More like this’’ section ? Bonus: Also, about the ordering of the films when we click on the director, I think it would be nice if that was chronological. Thanks in advance for the discussion, Cheers, Takit Edit: I wanted to change the title of the topic to something like ’’director collection’’ but I can’t edit my first post anymore.
