joshuakay92 0 Posted March 8 Posted March 8 Is there any way Emby theater can be used without an internet connection for an extended period of time ? I have a lifetime subscription to emby and go on frequent deployments where there is truly no internet capabilities at all for several months and having something like emby theatre would be amazing to have. One of the little things you miss when you're away is browsing a nice UI instead of looking at dull lists of movies in the file explorer. Is there any way I can use emby theatre while away ? Normally when I launch emby theatre without an internet connection, it just refuses to open the app window.

Use browser instead in that scenario.
Luke 38500 Posted March 10 Posted March 10 Quote launch emby theatre without an internet connection, it just refuses to open the app window. This will change soon though as we have a new windows app coming, so stay tuned.
joshuakay92 0 Posted August 23 Author Posted August 23 Would using the browser work indefinitely or will it require me to connect back to the internet at some point for validation?

Edit: Though pick a browser that'll DirectPlay (or at least DirectStream) most/majority/all of your content (MS Edge, Marmaduke Chromium, Thorium.. all have good codec support), as you'll lose Hardware-accelerated transcoding at some point after server license cache expires which might affect you, depending on your server machine capabilities). joshuakay92 0 Posted August 23 Author Posted August 23 Thank you very much for the support, I've been put in charge of sorting out all of the media for the next time we deploy and it's been a deer in headlights situation so the help has been appreciated.
